ABOUT DIRECT HR:

Client:
The client is a 3rd party service provider in the testing and certification industry for Textile.

Managing Director (foreign national)
Travelling:
frequently, 75% within China
Recruitment process:
+ Telephone interviews
+ Face-to-face interviews
Responsibilities:
+ Overall responsibility for the daily work of this international companies' Inspection Department
+ On Site Quality Control of Garments at the production site
+ On Site Quality Assurance monitoring the production process and advising the factory of ways to improve the quality during the production run
+ Leading and developing of team of supervisors reporting to this role in order to support a further, smooth growth of companies operations in China.
+ Delegating of tasks to supervisor to enable them to gain experience and learn from international best management practices
+ Act as an enabler towards own team
+ Ensure all of companies operations are conducted within full compliance of all laws and regulations relevant, install mechanisms to identify team-members not acting accordingly and prevent in the future the occurrence of such behavior
+ Implement and ensure a system of continuous improvement of all team members, enable the direct reports to do so with a train-the-trainer approach
+ Keep a regular communication with relevant colleagues in the European HQ
+ Regularly and openly report to the China Managing Director in a chosen time-frame and format, ensure that MD has complete picture of all ongoing matters within Mainland China
+ Other tasks as assigned by management
+ Strong Technical Knowledge of Garment Inspections
+ Computer literate
Requirements:
+ Bachelor degree in relevant field such as Business Economics, Textile Engineering, or other
+ At least 5 years working experience as a manager with direct people responsibility, of which at least 3 years responsible to manage other managers (a team of no less than 20 with no less than 10 indirect reports)
+ Experience with 3rd party QC in Garment Factories in China
+ Experience managing Chinese QC Inspectors
+ Working as Quality Controller in Garment Production
+ Previous experience of growing people to become great functional supervisors of their own teams.
+ Experience leading a transformation of a department both culturally and implementing new performance improvements.
+ Working experience in China is important
+ Experience being a manager of both Chinese and Foreign nationals
+ Experience making high impact big decisions and able to do so with calm and clarity, according to international best management practices
+ Not a micro-manager
+ Excellent communication skills at all levels
+ Cool and level headed person, collects information, then acts with a clear line of thought
+ Native German speaker
+ Fluent in English, written and spoken
+ Additional Chinese languages skills are very welcome
