Job Description:
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to;
? Assist in the selection of particular vendors/suppliers with whom to place orders and acts as a primary contact with vendors/suppliers.
? To negotiate directly with our vendors to insure our company is receiving the best available pricing, terms, service, and warranty.
? Work with Production to insure equipment/parts and materials are in place to meet production forecasts.
? In accordance with management to reduce raw material and finished goods’ inventories objectives by implementing supplier and internal strategies.
? As a cross-functional team member, represents supply base and takes actions necessary to support quoting, production, cost savings initiatives, quality/complaint investigations and other supply chain related activities.
? Assist the receiving and accounting department to ensure in-time delivery, and accurate receipts.
? Resolves problems with assigned production parts/materials, equipment or supplier orders.
? Expedites requirements as needed (e.g., order action, shortage/pre-shortage, late order reports).
? Measuring and improving supplier performance while also establishing / maintaining loyalty with our prime vendors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineer, or related field
? Knowledge of SAP based software.
? 5+ years of Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
? Experience with lean manufacturing principles preferred
? Experience in achieving cost reduction
? Experience sourcing new suppliers and supporting new product introductions
? Demonstrated experience with logistics, importing & exporting

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
? Proactive, energetic, professional self-starter with excellent organizational, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
? Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
? Computer skills with Word and Excel.
? Knowledge and experience with JIT, KanBan, TPS, 5S, TQC, ISO 9000s, and any other GMP disciplines.
? Willingness to learn and to work hard under great pressures
