Major Accountabilities:
To create and maintain robust and united platforms for Pipeline Pilot and KNIME in
global. Also support spotfire and other compound based internal applications. This
person will, as determined by the specific problem, either work independently with
the research scientists, or work as a member of a local or global team to deliver the
appropriate solution.
Furthermore, this person will be recognized as a resource in the Novartis scientific
community for knowledge of existing and emerging informatics technologies from
across academics communities and commercial enterprises.
Excellent communication, quicker learner with strong problem solving skills.
Demonstrated success working in global teams.
Demonstrated success as a service provider.
Can work under pressure and be willing to meet challenges.
Strong skills in Perl or Python, Shell scripts, Java, Visual Studio, ASP.NET, C#.
Strong knowledge in Web, Database and Network technologies.
Working knowledge of a broad range of chemical databases.
Working knowledge of various chemistry informatics tools. Especially on Pipeline
Pilot and KNIME.
Abundance of experience on scientific software developing.

Ideal Background:
Education: M.S. and plus in Chemistry with strong knowledge in computer sci-ence or Computer Science with strong knowledge in Chemistry.
Languages: Excellent abilities in reading, writing and talking in English and Chinese.
Experience: 2+ years of work experience in cheminformatics. With broad knowledge on the development and usages of scientific software. Specialist in Spotfire, Pipeline pilot and KNIME development will be plus.
