JOB DESCRIPTION
The role is based in the Shanghai but will involve working closely with colleagues based in US and throughout Asia. The Senior Database/BI Developer works closely with database architect/designer and the rest of the development team (including UI developers) with a focus on the design and development of the data, reporting and BI solutions for large complex data-centric software systems. This is a position requiring knowledge and experience in both database and BI development with size exceeding
multiple terabyte.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform technology/tools evaluation and software technical proof of concepts with a focus on Database and BI tools
70% of the work will be on developing applications with a focus on large/complex OLTP reports that use Stored Procedure, SSRS/SSIS and MS SQL Server 2008 databases
Candidate is also expected to work on data warehouse and BI solution with Microsoft BI tools
Develop data Model with ER concept and tools
Design and tune performance for stored procedures and applications with multi-TB databases
Perform the integration test with windows and web interfaces
Debug and troubleshoot with combination of database components and C# application
This is not a production DBA position.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Master or BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent education.
5+ years current experiences in database development using SQL Server
2005/2008 and stored procedure with multi-TB databases
5+ years of experience in database design using ER modeling tools
3+ years current experience with Microsoft SQL Business Intelligent Tools
(SSRS, SSIS and SSAS) with focus on large/complex report development
Extensive performance design and tuning experience with large complex
database
Knowledge and skills with application development using C#.Net and ASP.Net is a definite asset
Familiar with full software development lifecycle
Ability to work quickly and efficiently to implement designs
Ability to work effectively and independently within a team environment
Ability to participate in project planning and estimation efforts
Strong documentation and communications skills
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Experience of working with offshore team is a plus
