Summary of Position:
The Network Engineer/Techrole is to work with the suppliers, end users, and Delphi IT leaders to propose process solutions within IT Infrastructure Services based on an understanding and anticipation of business requirements and opportunities, to meet Delphi’s short term and long term requirements. This role will support all activities related to LAN Network Infrastructure at designated sites within the Region.
This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects/improvements, service level changes, and Manage Supplier services.
Additionally this positionprovides operational tasks to support end user services and internal IT Infrastructure management tools. This position monitors utilization andadvises on opportunities for efficient operation.
The primary scope of responsibility is Technical and focused primarily the assigned Region 7X24. This is an on-call position and will require travel to Delphi Sites globally as required to provide hands on support. In addition other global regions will be supported during regular in-region business hours.
This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
In support of the Delphi Enterprise Operating System, (Delphi EOS) this position will have a series of actions and outcomes required to achieve the divisions’ or enterprise desired capability level. Making the Delphi EOS the IT systems and service capability framework will ensure that our clients’ business objectives are achieved and accomplished in a manner that is both predictable and measurable. To match the ongoing business needs of our clients and achieve a higher degree of client intimacy, this position will support the establishment and execution of a performance management capability that delivers the right level of IT and client collaboration to solve performance outages and deliver required business capabilities.
TheNetwork Engineer/Tech reports directly toa Manager within the Infrastructure Services & Transition Managementorganization.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities of this position are related to the actual hands-on delivery of operation support/monitoring. This position technical and also provides administration of tools used by IT to manage IT internal and supplier services. The individual who fills this role is responsible for managing actions, outcomes and results. The activities that this individual will oversee include:
? Support key activities in the Infrastructure Services areas in addition to LAN Services, this includes WAN, VOIP, Lync, Video Conferencing, Application optimization tools.
? Analyze business-requirements, costs and processes related to infrastructure projects and change requests.
? Document / modify and create Global business process proposals.
? Act as Subject Matter Expert of LAN technologies and IT management tools.
? Provide day to day Management of Outsource LAN Infrastructure Projects.
? Facilitate in training end users on new processes.
? Supporting design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancingprocesses, operations, and information process flow.
? Facilitating the preparation and delivery of reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in pertinent operating systems across the organization as identified by proposals.
? Collaborating in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new IT Service offerings.
? Performing cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Candidate Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will have the following experiences and expertise:
? Installation / Setup / Configuration / Troubleshooting of LAN Equipment
? Ability to engineer local solutions based on site requests.
? WAN accelerators support Riverbed Platform Certification
? WAN Deployments – Route Distribution over MPLS Network / Route Maps / Filtering / Traffic Prioritization
? Strong experience in routing, switching, wireless, load balancers, and Cisco Platform Certification.
? Networking Protocols
? MPLS – Multiprotocol Label Switching
? STP – Spanning Tree Protocol
? IEEE802.3 – Ethernet Frame Data Format
? Packet Capturing / Analysis – WireShark / TCPdump, OpNET, etc.
? Network Security – Cisco VPN Firewalls / NAT / IPSEC / Access Lists
? Daily operational support of switching and routing infrastructure of the Global Network. Hands on setup of network devices onsite.
? Deployment and troubleshooting IP wired and wireless network connectivity issues
? Wireless network administration (NAC,ISE), reporting and site surveys
? Assignment and configuration of switch ports, IP addresses and other network resources
? Ensure timely trouble ticket resolution for end user issues.
? Support for network deployment and maintenance projects.
? Coordinate with equipment makers and service providers on issues
? Monitor network stability and performance - ensuring 24x7 operations and resolving service impacts as they occur.
? Participation in 24x7 on-call rotation willing to work weekends and shifts outside of normal business hours.
? Willing to travel to support field issues at other sites.
? Pro-active, quick learner who is interested in learning new technologies

Educational/Certification Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree in a related field - Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred
? 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology with an emphasis on Networking
? One (1) or more years of experience with an enterprise-class network (Required)
? One (1) or more years of experience maintaining and configuring routers and switches (Required)
? Minimum of one (1) year experience in implementing or supporting wireless, switched, and router technologies.
? Must possess Experience and Certification with Riverbed WAN Acceleration.
? Must possess 1 or more of the following Cisco certifications (current or expired) preferred:
o CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate
o CCNP Cisco Certified Network Professional
o CCIE Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert - Preferred
6-12 Month Deliverables:
? Full Inventory/Analysis of all sites. Includes state/condition of all equipment.
? Fully updated CMDM for all sites responsible within the assigned region in the Service Now system.
? Maintain IT management tools.
? Develop functional requirements of designs necessary for project planning.
? Provide Financial and OLA Metric based analysis to support decisions on Supplier services.
? Train supplier and team members on Tools and systems.
? Support the contracting of LAN Projects in region to outside Suppliers.
? Support project solution reviews during Initiation and Planning Gates
