We are looking for a highly motivated and results driven individual to lead our HVAC modeling team based in the R&D Center in Shanghai, China. This is an exciting position for the right individual that is interested in leading and managing a small team (10-12 engineers) with responsibility over technical and project management deliverables. In addition, this leader will collaborate with the rest of the global Modeling, Analysis, Simulation, and Computation (MASC) team in setting up and implementing strategic programs.

· Lead a team of 10-12 engineers responsible for developing and applying physics-based modeling to the company products (equipment and building level).

· Manage projects related to the delivery of new modeling tools with responsibility over the quality and timing of the required tasks.

· Hire and develop new engineers and engineering interns to provide a solid foundation for their career development.

· Provide technical leadership and mentoring in the area of steady-state and transient models for HVAC equipment and building level systems.

· Support the application of MASC tools to local product development programs.

· Member of the global Modeling, Analysis, Simulation and Computation (MASC) leadership team.

The MASC group at Company Corporation is responsible for developing and maintaining our capability in system modeling focusing on steady-state, dynamic, and building/supermarket energy modeling. The main objective of this group is to increase company capability and skill set in system and component modeling and simulation to increase the quality of our products and accelerate product development, while eliminating the need for extensive product development testing. Another key objective is to develop new modeling process and tools to support the company sustainability and environmental strategies, integrated buildings initiative and the establishment of system solutions to meet these challenges. This is a global team based in 5 locations: Syracuse, USA; Indianapolis, USA; Montluel, France; Mainz, Germany, and Shanghai, China.

This position is based in Shanghai, China.

The prospective candidates should have at least 5 years experience in steady-state and dynamic modeling of vapor-compression and/or power generation systems including related components like heat exchangers and compression technologies.

Strong capabilities in computational simulations, physics based modeling, and dynamic system analysis.

Working knowledge of Modelica/Dymola, C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, Visual Basic and Fortran is highly desirable.

Working level experience in project management and demonstrate ability to meet tight quality and delivery metrics is required. Experience in leading project teams (5-10 people) is a definite advantage.

Candidates should possess a MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Physics with at least 5 years experience.

Fluent English (both written and spoken), solid technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team and in a global environment is required.

Engineering Management or MBA degrees will be a plus.
