Senior Electrical Camera Systems Engineer
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The Systems Engineer is responsible for interacting with product management, marketing, sales, and
customers to identify and distill security requirements into specifications for successful products.
Responsibilities include:
? Develop requirements from existing product functionality, performance metrics, and customer
needs and drive architectural decisions on future solutions.
? Develop a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements for the Security industry, by
partnering with global compliance teams.
? Use various simulation tools to explore the design space and critical variables associated with
product features. Translate these findings into requirements, create specification documents, and
present to project teams.
? Leverage existing and seek out new development partners and/or leverage Other Vendor
Products (OVPs) as needed to meet project needs.
? Perform technology scouting; identify new technologies and trends and bring them in house or
partner with experts to demonstrate feasibility in Security products.
? Drive trade-off analyses to select technologies and designs to define and further architecture
strategies.
? Design, integrate, document, and release to production new Security products
? Show flexibility by performing various engineering tasks and projects to support the team
including new development, sustaining, documentation, and troubleshooting.
? Integrate existing, off-the-shelf solutions into Security specific products.
? Act as a trusted expert in the Systems Engineering discipline for the broader product
development organization.
? Drive process improvements, share industry best practices, and develop the Systems
Engineering discipline in the organization.
? Lead, mentor, and coach other engineers in the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
? Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Engineering,
Physics, or Mathematics.
? Five or more years of professional experience in an engineering role.
? Knowledge of the System Engineering discipline (e.g., Voice of Customer, requirements definition,
system architecture, functional simulation, design and integration, verification and validation,
production support, deployment, and retirement, product life cycle management).
? Experience in the complete product development process, including design and project definition,
development, testing, and on-time execution.
? Capability to lead coworkers and proactively drive project milestones to completion, leveraging
project management tools (e.g., schedules action items, memos, and presentations).
? Experience with process improvement (ACE or Six Sigma).
? Knowledge of UL, ULC, FCC, EN, ETSI, ACA regulatory groups and requirements.
