Senior Mechanical Engineer
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and
maintenance of cutting-edge metal & plastic parts design for security-related video applications
and real-time video analytics. Interaction with the Quality Assurance, Technical Support,
Documentation, Training, and Product Management teams, as well as research staff and
customers, will be required on a periodic basis.
Responsibilities include:
? Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other
data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or
applications.
? Work with research staff to design, implement, and commercialize new analytics
? Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance
with engineering design and performance specifications.
? Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and
performance of equipment, components and systems.
? Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and stay informed
about current technologies
? Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess
feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of
modification.
? Where required, conduct research and development activities concerned with integration
and testing of electronic and mechanical components, products and systems and in
development of applications for commercial and industrial use.
Qualifications/Requirements:
? Bachelor of Science or higher in Mechanical Engineering
? 1-3 years of mechanical engineering work experience
? Ability to use Solidworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and
Outlook
? Experiences with metal and plastic parts design
? Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference,
and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts
such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
? Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
? Ability to prepare bill of materials for new orders and/or new design for job costing
? Electrical controls or electrical engineering background a plus
? Responsible for taking conceptual ideas and convert into drawings
