EMBA Machinery is a leading supplier to the corrugated board industry all over the world. The EMBA machines are renowned for extremely high productivity and box quality thanks to the very short set up times, high speed production and reliable function. The company was founded in 1954, with the name Emballagemaskiner. The company started with simple box making machines and soon specialized in stitching machines. The development of a semi-automatic stitching machine followed by a fully-automatic stitching machine turned EMBA into an exporting company.

EMBA is owned by Berg group, a family owned company with a total turnover of around 1 billion SEK and their Swedish headquarters are located in Örebro. The group has manufacturing companies in Sweden, Germany, USA and sales companies in UK, Italy, Austria, India and Brazil. The sales office in China was set up in 1995 and the activities of EMBA Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. are part sourcing, assembly, machinery sales and customer service to the market of China and Far East Asia.



DRIVEN SALES MANAGER FOR SOUTH CHINA WANTED TO EMBA IN SHANGHAI



The role and Responsibility

EMBA is looking to strengthen their presence in China and is therefore expanding its team with a sales manager for South China region. In the role as Sales Manager you will build long-term relationships with local customers to expand the sales of EMBA machinery, aftermarket products and services. The base will be in EMBA Songjiang office and the territory will initially be the area south of Yangzi River, and frequent travelling is therefore required. You will be the key person within the whole sales process, from identifying potential customers, seeing opportunities and establishing long-term relationships to making sales contracts and monitoring shipment and import processes. The role also contains project management assuring communication between the customer, the local support team, and the Swedish headquarters. Additionally, you will be in charge of creating contacts with provincial associations for the corrugated packaging board industries, and you will participate in related local and national seminaries and exhibitions.

Experience and Characteristics

To be successful as a Sales Manager for EMBA you have to be a self-motivated and social person who can easily spot business opportunities. You have at least five years experience of long sales cycles, preferably from the corrugated paper board packaging industry, and you have some knowledge about printing technology. Experience from large capital investment sales of machinery is beneficial. You have preferably a technical degree from industrial business or machine engineering. You need to have worked in a Western corporation and have good understanding of European business culture. You are fluent in both Mandarin and English and know the Chinese market well. Further you are experienced in project management and well familiar with technical sales. To master this role you also need to have good communication and leadership skills and be a quick learner. As a person you are a social and self-motivated relationship-builder with high integrity and high ethics.
