Occupational Summary:

The Director of DKU Executive Education is charged with marketing and overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of non-degree executive education and training programs at DKU. The Director will work with the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Conference Center programs to identify faculty and programs at Duke that could be used to build out DKU's portfolio of executive education programs, in addition to being responsive to other program opportunities as well. The Director will have responsibility for promoting the programs to individuals and companies, primarily using corporate outreach but also digital media and other marketing techniques as appropriate. These programs will be financially self-sufficient, with participant fees sufficient to pay for all resources directly used for each program beginning in year one and all overhead and market after two years. In addition, the programs are also expected to be of a high quality and to help build the reputation of DKU by bringing to campus a broad range of participants who can experience it first-hand.

Essential Duties:
?Identify, call, meet with, and develop relationships with targeted companies, alumni contacts, government agencies, and other sources as appropriate to identify opportunities for DKU executive education.
?Work with C-level executives and senior government officials to develop and provide programs or services that meet client needs.
?Plan, conduct, and follow-up on joint client calls with faculty or other staff to represent DKU.
?Actively solicit RFPs and/or respond to unsolicited RFPs by developing proposals that accurately represent the School’s capabilities and meet the needs of the requesting organization.
?Work with program directors and faculty to develop proposed curriculum for each proposal.
?Maintain current information on leads, contacts, proposals, utilizing the CRM system
?Identify, track and share relevant research and trends in the market.
?Oversee the design, marketing, and delivery of a portfolio of open enrollment programs.
?Prepare an annual budget and strategic plan for DKU executive education and report regularly on progress towards agreed upon financial and programmatic objectives.

Qualification:

Education:

?Masters of Business Administration or equivalent required.

Experience:

?5 to 7 years consulting or executive education experience preferred.
?Written and spoken fluency in Mandarin and English
?The ability to travel 40% of the time and work weekends and evenings as needed.
?Proven ability to interact effectively and credibly with C-level clients, senior government officials, faculty, and staff on the appropriate design, development, and delivery of programs.
?Ability to project a professional manner with self-assurance, conscientiousness, and confidence in dealing with others.
?A successful track record in either consulting or executive education dealing with high-level client engagements requiring long sales cycles is strongly preferred
?Broad intellect and keen interest in public affairs and contemporary issues in a wide range of fields.
?Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially to envision, create and implement successful programs.
?Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication and presentation skills
?Excellent organizational and administrative skills and a track record of successful project management.
