The Manufacturing/Product Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of daily and ongoing production. A successful Sustaining Mfg Engineer; is dynamic, driven, organized and detail oriented, Flexible, creative, assertive; proactively excels in continuous process improvement; communicates with ease at all levels both locally and abroad; thrives in an ambiguous environment, reduces complex issues to tangible portions based on data and suggests a myriad of potential solutions to cover short term mitigation as well as long term root cause corrective action and is adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts. Well versed at estimating the magnitude of a given issues and accurately estimating resources and duration required to rectify problems.

Responsibilities

? Champion and drive supplier production process, tooling and material improvements, procedures, SPC data collection, cost reductions via value engineering activities as well as realizing efficiency opportunities localized to the vendors manufacturing operations
? Support internal cross-functional teams to ensure products are optimized for cost, manufacturability, supply chain flexibility and Zeps manufacturing initiatives
? Manage and insure all internal and supplier manufacturing documentation is current and traceable
? Manage and continuously maintain all capacity requirements, working in tandem with internal supply chain groups and other Mfg personnel
? Support tooling and part approval process for replacement and added capacity tooling and equipment, own and manage tooling maintenance tasks, which include appropriate fixturing and or assembly equipment. Design and develop fixtures and tooling for manufacturing process improvements
? Support all supplier regulatory compliance requirements including, but not limited to UL, CE, ISO, RoHs inspections
? Principal point of contact on a product by product basis of current CM's and strategic suppliers
? Collaboratively work with outsourced Manufacturing Partners to assess and develop manufacturing processes and procedures
? Support Quality Metrics and provide leadership in problem resolution and failure analysis (regarding build configurations, yields, line stops, scrap rates, component failures, etc.) with manufacturing partners and material suppliers
? Support document control system, BOM/part number/product structure and all mfg. related documentation requirements and ongoing document maintenance
? Implementation and management of ECO/ECR and or deviations for all Production Released products within China.
? Manage product replacement EOL (end of life) obsolescence tasks


Requirements

? 5-7 yrs direct hands on experience and know-how with fast paced, mechanical product design and product commercialization start-ups.
? BS Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
? Fluent in English and Mandarin
? Experience with Automotive quality systems (ISO/TS 16949) and PPAP processes, Total Quality Management (TQM), continuous process improvement, statistical process control (SPC), kanban and lean manufacturing principals
? Knowledge & direct experience in manufacturing operations and sustaining manufacturing
? Knowledge of Program Management and Quality systems; PMP/Six Sigma certifications highly desirable
? Understanding of mechanical fabrications processes such as extrusions, machining/turning, die investment & sand casting, sheet metal, precisions stamping and ALU/SS materials and mechanical assembly processes
? Knowledge in DFx methodologies and practices as applied to high volume manufacturing
? Able to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems on a conceptual and advanced troubleshooting level
? Familiarity with global supply chain operations for direct material procurement
? Up to 25% International and domestic travel within China
