General Description:

The Logistics Officer tracks the flow of materials and supplies from supplier throughout DTS to a centralized consolidation facility and/or to client delivery destinations worldwide. The condition of supplies i.e. quality and quantity must be checked upon delivery to ensure the goods conform to ordered specifications.

Job Description:
The Logistics Officer will:

1. Be coordinating the interface between logistics functions such as purchase, transportation and warehousing to ensure efficient, timely, and cost effective support to the clients.
2. Be named point of contact regarding all shipments to all the clients.
3. Receive and verify packing lists and other documentation from suppliers for delivery to clients at various locations.
4. Update databases and other reporting tools to maintain visibility of shipment status.
5. Regularly review and negotiate freight rates: air, courier, and land.
6. Liaises with custom brokers and shipping agents for updated reporting procedures and valuations.
7. Be responsible for all duty customs sales and tax functions, including certification and verification, drawback and compliance with governmental agencies attribution.
8. Be required to interact, develop and maintain working relationships with other areas of the business, at all levels.
9. Identify opportunities to improve performance
10. Undertake delegated duties from the Deputy General Manager as and when require.
11. Be flexible with regard to working patterns to meet the business needs.

Job Specifications:

1. Bachelor Degree in Business, Logistics, or similar major
2. Min 2-3 years’ experience
3. Ability to write/read reports and correspondence in English
4. Ability to communicate effectively in English with both customers & colleagues
5. Familiar Microsoft Office
