Reporting to the China Manager in Australia you will assume site leadership responsibility for the management and coordination of all manufacturing operations, including quality, health and safety, production planning coordination to meet agreed supply deadlines, plant and equipment, all aspects of tooling, maintenance and incoming stores. You will have a high level of interaction with the Australian manufacturing team who will provide strong support.

The role is a Senior Management position within our China operations and will assume a high level of responsibility for our planned expansion and relocation as we further invest in developing a modern world class manufacturing facility based on Lean manufacturing principles.

Main responsibilities will include;

Manage and develop a multi skilled manufacturing team, leading by example, building good working relationships and evolving OH&S procedures ensuring safe working conditions.

Manage production planning and monitors production ensuring agreed manufacturing performance objectives including cost, profit and on time delivery(OTD) are achieved.

Drives quality, lean manufacturing and productivity improvements.

Supports and is responsible for the implementation of ERP upgrade within our manufacturing operations to improve local production planning and control, accurate BOMs and product costing.

Directs product design process ensuring designs meet with specified requirements, company standards and suitability for production in Suzhou plant achieving both quality and productivity objectives.

Manages Industrial Engineering function including design and implementation of plant layout, design and manufacture of tooling, jigs and fixtures, liaising and supported by the Australian team.

Responsible for plant management and maintenance ensuring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets are achieved.


To be considered for the role, you have

? Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (industrial or mechanical) and preferred to have a post graduate qualification in management
? 10 years manufacturing management experience in electrical and data cabinet manufacturing
? Implementation and operation of ERP systems in a production environment
? Strong understanding and experience in lean manufacturing and meeting OEE targets
? Experience managing engineering and maintenance teams
? Experience in health and safety and environmental management
? Strong knowledge of QA and have qualification and experience in applying Six Sigma process improvement tools
? Have a good understanding of the product development process
? Strong computer skills especially in Excel
? Competent 3D CAD skills with training in SolidWorks for sheet metal preferred
? High level English communication skills (verbal & written) Interviews will be in English
? Ability to travel to Australia for training purposes
? Proven background as a team player
? Ability to think strategically
