Key Areas of Activity
Lead the production team to achieve the best levels of Quality and Delivery performance, maintain a safe working environment, manage production costs and drive daily continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities in detail
1. Ensure that employees work in a safe environment and follow safe working practices at all times;
2. Achieve best possible Quality and Productivity results;
3. Organise the production shift in line with production schedule so that customer delivery dates are met;
4. Ensure that operators comply with documented procedures and work instructions;
5. Take immediate corrective action during the shift where there is a risk that plan cannot be met; escalate major issues quickly;
6. Minimise machine changeover times by having well-planned and organised changeovers;
7. Ensure that production equipment is correctly maintained and cared for;
8. Minimise WIP in the production area and ensure proper storage, segregation and identification of all materials;
9. Ensure that data collection and reporting is accurate at all times; Provide clear and accurate shift handover reports;
10. Ensure that visual management boards are up-to-date and accurate at all times;
11. Ensure availability of operating supplies, tools and ancillary equipment at all times;
12. Ensure that only approved and up-to-date documentation is used;
13. Create a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork, instills a sense of pride in product workmanship and appearance, celebrate accomplishments, and champion improvement in all areas;
14. Ensure that personnel are properly trained and certified for their assigned duties;
15. Provide timely and accurate feedback to production staff in order to improve performance;
16. Take immediate action on employee problems, concerns, and recommendations;
17. Treat employees with fairness and respect at all times;
18. Drive for continuous improvement in all areas;
Job Requirements
1. Diploma or Degree in Engineering / Technical discipline or Management;
2. 3 years Supervisory experience in high volume production environment;
3. Diecut experience preferred; technical capability essential;
4. Able to work flexible hours including shift work;
5. Excellent team leadership and organising skills;
6. Good communication skills both spoken and written; English ability preferred
7. Good numeracy and analysis skills;
8. Good problem solver; able to respond quickly to issues;
