If you have a passion for Sourcing and have a strong background in global transportation and logistics then this is the position for you. Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Division (IEB) Sourcing and Planning Organization is looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager to develop and execute aggressive Sourcing strategies designed to move product most effectively to help Manufacturing & Supply Chain Information Systems team meet their delivery, financial and other performance goals.

Primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:

-Accountable for design, execution and implementation of fulfillment and distribution- related category sourcing strategies to achieve year-over-year improvement in total cost, quality and service levels.

-Use category expertise and market awareness to define sourcing roadmaps. Contribute category expertise to the process of sourcing strategy development, supplier selection, negotiation and strategy refinement with a cross-function category team to accomplish improvements in freight and distribution cost profile.

-Develop a data driven spend management and reporting system to enable an agile and responsive sourcing environment and to support program performance assessment and reporting.

-Design and implement a programmatic vendor engagement model and management program to achieve year-over-year improvements.

-Identify cost optimization opportunities. Champion productivity improvements by facilitating internal and joint supplier teams pursuing cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities in alignment with the sourcing strategy.

-Implement a robust benchmarking program to validate appropriateness of costs and service levels. Establish working relationships with other company Operations functions and bring best in class ideas to life at Microsoft.

-Monitor and aggressively manage operational/tactical compliance with the strategy.

-Collaborate with the Operations fuction to develop fulfillment solutions for new and/or emerging markets and geographical locations.

-Work closely with other functions within the Manufacturing Organization to ensure strategies and business objectives are coordinated and successfully executed.

-Act as partner, advisor and consultant to Director and GM level client group leaders.

-Drive indirect sourcing, as competency, through continuous development of the Division’s sourcing knowledge base and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

-Successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in logistics operations or management, with intimate knowledge of pricing and key cost drivers for all aspects of freight and distribution. Bachelors’ degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement Management, or related field required.

-Experience in Supply Chain Operations sourcing, with key focus on global fulfillment and distribution; transportation, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, distribution and trade issues knowledge a plus. Previous experience managing fulfillment and distribution center sourcing and operations required.

-Developed and oversees implementation of the global vendor management program which holds suppliers accountable for continuous strategic and tactical improvements including reducing lead times, increasing schedule flexibility, enhancing quality and service, and reducing costs year over year.

-Up-to-date knowledge of Logistics industry and trends. Experience with benchmarking costs to validate cost reduction opportunities, business process improvement opportunities, and negotiations strategies.

-Awareness of current Sourcing practices required. Experience developing bid specifications, conducting competitive bids, analyzing proposals and negotiating contracts.

-Strong analytic skills with the ability to synthesize complex data sets and clearly communicate written and oral recommendations to key stakeholders is critical to success. Must have demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills.

-Strong Project Management experience. Consulting experience, change management and cross group collaboration skills required.

-Ability to communicate and influence key decisions makers at the manager, director and GM level.

The ideal candidate will be able to think and act strategically, to set a vision and execute against that vision. It is critical that the person in this role be able to develop productive, collaborative working relationships with a variety of people with differeing personal styles and geographical locations.
