The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) in this position is responsible for providing technical support for AMD Business Development Executives and Commercial End User accounts within their defined region. This candidate will be accountable to the commercial sales team and the field engineering director for all aspects of technical engagements required to support sales and account objectives in the region. The FAE will be required to support a broad range of end customers, technology partners and MNC accounts. The primary focus of the FAE will be to:
? Develop technical relationships with end customers and partners
? Win new commercial opportunities
? Defend/support existing opportunities
? Provide customer feedback to AMD engineering/technical teams

Experience and Education Requirements:

1.Have a broad technical understanding of AMD’s commercial product portfolio with special emphasis on server platforms (blade, rack, tower, cluster), software environments and application performance.
2.knowledge of end user software environments including Operating systems (Windows and Unix based), compilers, benchmarks, and targeted applications for the following target markets:

? Virtualization and Database computing, SQL, Oracle, VMWare and other relevant software
? Cloud and Datacenter Computing

3. Excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills) with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise
4.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
5.Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
6.Strong internal (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) and external (customer) relationships
7.Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage complex problems involving multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams
8. 5-7 years experience Degree should be technology related bachelor's degree or other technical discipline (e.g. Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
9.Requires knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Server CPUs and technology, Server system optimization, Application performance optimization/tuning and benchmarking, Virtualization technology and hypervisors, Database applications, power management and competitive architecture. Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas is also preferred: GPGPU/AMD Stream technology, Compilers, SQL, Oracle and/or Cloud platforms and applications (Azure, PHP, Memcache).
