Responsibilities:
Responsible for reviewing technical requirements and machine specification provided by internal customers to ensure completeness and feasibility. Ensure the technical requirement’s provided meet the specific business unit’s expectation, goals and objectives. Review supplier quotes ensuring acceptable response to the technical requirements provided. If needed, engage internal customer and suppliers to assure the solutions provided meets the final technical requirement. Must provide guidance to other buyers relative to obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services. Develop RFx templates to support Capital Equipment, OEM Spare Parts & Service, and Engineering Services requirements. Participate in Global Commodity Council Meetings. Contributes to the regional strategy development. Expedites the delivery of purchased items in order to meet delivery schedules (as needed). Work under limited supervision from Global Commodity Director regarding daily tasks, goals and strategy. Take procurement lead in projects to support internal requirements/projects.
?Strong knowledge of manufacturing process and associated equipment required.
?Reviews Technical Requirements to ensure completeness & feasibility, provide feedback to the internal customer if needed.
?Must be able to provide analysis of responses from suppliers relative to the technical requirement.
?Provide guidance to other procurement team members relative to technical language for PR/PO & contract.
?Reviews purchase requisitions (and blueprints & technical requirements where applicable) and estimates cost. Reviews purchase requisitions for items such as proper price, commodity code, correct supplier, payment terms and lead-time.
?Use purchasing systems to perform specific purchasing tasks (e.g. processing requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, contracts, and rejections) and to utilize purchasing system information to investigate or resolve business issues. Is proficient in the use of e-procurement tools such as: RFI/RFP/Auctions…Has the ability to analyze supplier responses
?Negotiating best possible prices terms, and delivery schedules. Needs to consider total acquisition cost and the ability to perform cost analysis.
?Expedites orders and communicates information to resolve business issues (i.e.: payment problems & blocked invoices).
?Assists in the evaluation of Suppliers. Perform supplier audits to evaluate prospective suppliers with representatives from other disciplines (e.g. Quality, Engineering…). May be asked to write analytical reports concerning the evaluation of supplier’s facilities along with recommendations.
?Continually keeps informed on new products, substitute products and model changes by interviewing sales representatives, reading trade journals, participating in supplier meetings and making visits to manufacturer’s facilities.
?Performs research for better and less costly suppliers and processes, conduct value analysis for assigned commodities in order to reduce costs.
?Performs other buying responsibilities as assigned.
?Assists the Purchasing Manager or Commodity Manager (SBS, SBM MM) in the management and implementation of inventory reduction programs (e.g. JIT, consignment…) as required.
?Meets with internal clients to understand and satisfy their requirements.
?Participates in BU / cross functional project teams. Communicates project status and required actions to the procurement team.
?Actively participates in strategic projects, cost reduction programs, supplier reduction activity, delivery improvement and inventory reduction programs

Requirements:
?Requires a 4 year college degree or equivalent in engineering.
?Purchasing experience a plus.
?Minimum of five years in manufacturing or appropriate experience.
?Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as SAP experience.
?Good communication and analytical skills are required
