The Account Manager is a skilled results-driven operator who is responsible for achieving budgeted sales for all customers.
The Account Manager is responsible for championing the drive towards value creation and continuous growth through customer intimacy and satisfaction.
The Account Manager is responsible for being aware of market dynamics and influences, and quickly interprets the “global picture” back into S&OP and the sales network.
Responsibilities
1.Lead the development and implementation of account growth strategies
Develop a deep understanding of the customer vision, mission, strategies and business drivers and how they impact on the customer’s relationship. Use this understanding to name and drive strategic objectives.
Using the sales and account planning methodology, prepare and communicate dynamic customer plans.
Ensure customer plans are consistent with the strategic plan
Communicate the plan to the customer, and align customer and company expectations and gain customer commitment
Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers in the customer’s organization
Monitor environmental and competitor influences which may impact on the customer’s business planning and tactics
2.Achieve sales, business growth and profit objectives
Establish budgets that integrate with regional and global budget planning
Demonstrate excellence in the use of the sales methodology
Monitor and manage performance against KPIs in the customer plan
Effectively manage account receivables, debtors and credit limits (where applicable, work with local Payment Collection Officers to manage the process)
Develop partnerships between company and the customer stakeholders to identify and capture mutually beneficial growth opportunities
3. Deliver exceptional service standards for customers and operations
Align customer and company expectations and set standards for corrective actions and complaint resolution
Ensure efficient, seamless customer services through monitoring customer interfaces and providing feedback to relevant parties
Establish price positioning at the customer level in conjunction with S&OP
Maintain the customer demand plan in the Demand Planning Application (DPA)
Manage customer specification requirements according to the Product Specification Lifecycle Management (PSLM) process.
Adhere to financial, sales and operating authorities as defined by company policy
4. Lead and champion the development of a network committed to the customer
Co-opt the resources necessary to create the customer plan and drive development of opportunities in the plan.
Work collaboratively with Global Account Managers (where appropriate) to ensure local and global strategies are congruent
Develop and maintain networks within company to ensure excellence in all interactions with the customer
Share customer knowledge, insight and experiences with other account managers where appropriate, maintaining an awareness of customer confidentiality practices
5. Manage sales opportunities
Identify sales opportunities to meet planned demand targets
Follow appropriate processes to effect the sales plan
Manage sales base in accordance with S&OP volume objectives and pricing guidelines
Provide feedback on market pricing to the Sales Manager to ensure best price
Effectively manage account receivables, debtors and credit limits (where applicable, work with local Payment Collection Officers to manage the process)
Manage customer performance by tracking and delivering against agreed metrics
Requirements
1. At least 5 years of sales and business development experiences in dairy / food / FMCG industry
2. Knowledge of dairy food products and applications
3. Knowledge of dairy processing packaging and distribution systems
4. Knowledge of dairy product quality and health issues
5. Good English capability
