Position Summary:

The China Compliance Engineer will have responsibility to monitor existing standards and approvals used in China that affect product design, safety / performance and the sale of Swagelok products into China. They will gain involvement as a positive technical and strategic voice into the China standards and approvals process, as much as is allowed. They will establish and maintain good communication with our China sales team to keep up to date on customer standards and approval needs. Also, they will seek to gain invitation and establish technical credibility to participate in China standards activity. Additionally, they will establish a pro-active process to work with the USA Factory Compliance group to process and aide in submission of application for China approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

? Establish contacts and communication tools to keep up to date with China standards activity.

? Monitor current known standards and notices (including government) that affect our product and or sale of product into China. Translate documents into English if needed to share with USA Compliance Team.

? Establish good communication with USA factory compliance team and provide regular updates on changes to key standards affecting Swagelok.

? Gain invitation to standards meetings or information on current activity, participate if possible and justified. Write and maintain a standards activity charter by working with USA Compliance Team.

? Work with Swagelok China Sales Team to understand customer needs for standards or product approvals.

? Survey competitor's current product approvals, by reviewing competitor public websites and literature. Establish good working relationships with key China standards groups, such as SELO, CSEI, and CQC. Other groups may include AQSIQ, CNCA and SAC.

? Act as a host for China agency officials during visits and audits at USA Factory.

? Monitor regulations and standards at the appropriate level ensuring that information does not get lost in the standards details, but consistently is communicated at a strategic or higher information level.

? Provide monthly update / report to USA factory Compliance Team on China standards situation and any potential or future changes.

Position Requirements:

Education: BS degree in a technical discipline (enqineerinn Hpgrpp prpfarmH^ an MBA or appropriate business education or graduate study, a plus.

Experience: Must be capable of understanding the laws, standards and technical information. Adept in Chinese culture and able to build healthy key relationships with Chinese government agencies.

Skills/Knowledge: Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Most qualified person will have proven ability to foster trusting relationships. Must be able to understand the details and see the bigger picture or strategic meaning as they operate. Person needs to be supportive and represent Swagelok’s core values.
