The Manager of Residence Life and Student Services reports to the Associate Dean of Student Life. The Manager lives in the DKU Residence Hall, oversees accommodations and assignments functions, manages residence hall common spaces, promotes residential community interaction, and resolves residential and interpersonal tensions and problems. S/he is also responsible for the management and coordination of student visa processes. The Manager is part of the Student Life team that works in concert with academic program staff and provides 24 hour emergency on-call services. It requires emergency availability evenings and weekends.
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Develops, prepares, and edits information regarding student housing.
2. Manages housing assignment as well as residence hall common spaces that meet the distinct needs of each academic program, promote campus community, as well as maximize student learning and development.
3. Develops and implements residence hall policies and procedures.
4. Counsels students regarding their housing and resolves residential and interpersonal tensions and problems. Conducts training sessions for resident advisor staff as needed.
5. Provides information and consultation to students and coordinates with each academic program and local public security department to ensure the smooth processing of student visa.
6. Collaborates with all service providers (e.g., house keeping and maintenance staff, security personnel, and other service partners) as necessary to ensure the provision of excellent accommodations for all residents.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
1. Master’s degree in a relevant field
2. Fluency in English and Chinese; knowledge of and experience with Chinese education system
3. Intercultural competency achieved by living, working, or studying in an international, cross-cultural setting
