Position Overview

Responsibilities: This position will report to the Jawbone Logistics Director and will manage the logistics, customs and support/manage the CMs logistics group in APAC. The candidate will be responsible for managing foreign government agency compliance requirements, trade analyses and developing a logistics/compliance program in APAC. The candidate will develop an RMA process in APAC and will also be responsible for maintaining accurate data and assessing integrity of data. The candidate must be cross functional and willing to work closely with other Jawbone Logistics entities, Sales, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Customer Care, Finance and Sales Operations on various logistics and compliance responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure data integrity is thoroughly assessed.
- Assist in defining and documenting the material flows, while continuously improving efficiencies
- Understand operational directives and implementing measurable improvements
- Implement a cost effective solutions through process improvements
- Interface with sourcing, manufacturing, finance, and other Jawbone Company resources for proper disposal of material
- Analyze complex logistical problems and providing analytical solutions
- Work with logistics team to identify operational gaps and develop efficient solutions
- Collaborate with quality and customer care groups to understand customer related problems
- Understand how to use and perform material transactions
- Ensure compliance with China, United States and other foreign government’s customs regulations.
- Assist the logistics director with managing documentation and gathering the data required.
- Knowledge of submitting export license request with to TID (HKG Trade and Industry Department).
- Research customs regulations and ruling, determining regulatory or interpretive basis for classification, marking, and valuation decisions and communicate findings to logistics manager.
- Provide expertise in developing cost effective procedures for all Jawbone sales channels
- Coordinate with customers on discrepant shipments.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
- In-depth understanding of China and US Customs (import and export) is a must.
- Comprehensive understanding of Incoterms 2000 and 2010®
- Understanding of U.S. Export Compliance is a must. Must have knowledge of the EAR (Export Administration Regulations). Understanding U.S encryption compliance , CCL (Commerce Control List) and ECCN’s(Export Classification Control Numbers)is a plus.
- Must have working knowledge of US and China customs compliance rules and regulations. I.e. HTS codes, Schedule B.
- Customs Broker’s License preferred
- Excellent verbal and written English communication
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access
- Knowledge of NetSuite -preferred
- Must have 6-8 years of trade and customs experience
- BA/BS Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
