The Research Support Officer provides support for research development and research activities within designated academic departments, including, but not limited to, applying for research funds at the international, national and local levels. The Officer works closely with the academic departments in developing research activities, promoting research collaborations with external organizations, and in other university initiatives enhancing XJTLU research profiles nationally and internationally. The Officer is part of the Research Administration Office team.

Duties and responsibilities include working closely with researchers and departments to provide service in the full lifecycle of sponsored research: identifying funding opportunities; pre-award and post-award support including expenditures and final reporting;

1. Organize applications for research funding at the international, national and local levels;

2. Organize research seminars, workshops, and events, internally and externally;

3. Promote research collaborations with external organizations;

4. Facilitate academic exchanges to promote international collaborations in research so as to enhance the university’s international profiles;

5. Manage research funds and expenses and advise on university expenditure processes

6. Organize research release and publications;

7. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Director of Research.

1. Masters degree;

2. At least 2 years of work experience in research administration and support is preferred;

3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

5. Excellent presentation skills, and skillful in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

6. Attention to details; highly organized; patient and capable of follow-through;

7. Good team work spirit and problem solving capabilities;
