General Position Summary:
1, Look for/Introduce good potential local suppliers to enhance the supplier base in China. Develop the local suppliers to meet the requirements of the company which contributes to the overall business strategy.
2, Work on transferring the component supplying from USA/UK, to Chinese supplier, and introduce new components during NPI phase;
3, Request of quote, comparison, analysis and negotiation with local suppliers to obtain the best price with quality guaranteed, fully understand the drawings, specification and application and coordinate with suppliers and designer to resolve problem during localization.
4, Lead regular cost down activities initiated and find and lead supply chain saving project
5, Monitor suppliers performance and help suppliers to implement correct actions during new project developing phase;

Typical Functions/Responsibilities:
1, Listen to voices from supplier and designer/Engineering in USA/UK and build an effective communication channel between two sides;
2, Prepare cost analysis report and recommend supplier selection and business awards to manager and director. Involve with components (Plastic molding/metal stamping/Die-casting/Surface treatment…) manufacture feasibility evaluation together with local supplier and submit to R&D to make sure the components realization;
3, Responsible for solve problems during new components development both from technique and follow up project milestones and schedule to meet project requirements;
4, Improve supplier process capabilities/abilities through finding out problems during manufacture process, inspection and supervise suppliers to take effective correction actions;
5, Associate with SQE/SDE to solve serious quality accident and preventing bad parts from coming into plant;

Skills:
1, Skills and experiences in relate to sourcing in commercial vehicle field with engineering background is the most preferred.
2, Basic skills of commercial and contract negotiations.
3, Understand the plastic injection molding manufacturing/Metal stamping/Die-casting tools and manufacturing process/Machining process and related experience.
4, Familiar with ISO9001 and TS16949 (preferred) common quality controls systems and basic quality tools such as SPC, Controls plan and Pfema;
5, Supplier technical support and quality controls experience is also preferred.
6, Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
7, Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal
8, Understanding of Automotive Quality System requirements (APQP and PPAP)
9, Comfortable in interfacing with Engineering and Quality for carrying out Supplier Switching and Product transfers from US Suppliers to China

Williams Controls Suzhou was founded in March 2005 which is located in Suzhou Industrial Park. Suzhou is one of the most modern and good to living cities in China and it has a history of over 2,500 years. The size of the plant is 6,000 square meters with two buildings next two each other. There are 33 production lines and 185 employees in the factory at present.

The Suzhou plant makes electronic throttle pedals, pneumatic & hydraulic valves, joysticks, and sensors serving for heavy duty truck, buses, commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles as well as other specialty vehicles markets. There will be new product lines continue to set up in this plant as time going forward.

The plant has a high level of lean manufacturing which uses tools like 5S, one piece flow, poka-yoke, pull system, value stream mapping, U-Cell, visual management, kaizen, SMED, TPM, standardization and etc…This is one of the lean benchmarking facilities among this area. The plant is TS 16949, ISO14001 and ISO9001 certified. The plant was recently certified by Caterpillar, one of the key global customers, as the gold level supplier. It is a good recognition to the team in China towards the way to be the world class manufacturer.
