Job Description

Holding a key leadership position, the incumbent will act as the senior engineer within the campus, responsible for all facilities maintenance standards, policies and practices. He/she will:

· Lead all engineering, construction and renovation projects throughout the campus.

· Prepare maintenance, renovation and construction schedules

· Manage capital works, including an annual summer works programme

· Identify and implement opportunities to optimize effectiveness of campus management and achieve cost savings

· Manage all facilities maintenance budgets

· Prepare and take ownership of the 3-5 year campus maintenance and development plan

· Be responsible for leading quality management activities throughout the campus

· Ensure the campus is compliant with Health and Safety regulations and follows best practice.

· Work effectively with colleagues to ensure facility services are delivered efficiently and effectively

· Liaise with landlord, local government officials and bureau officers as necessary

· Oversee appropriate training and development for staff

The position will therefore play a key role in setting and enforcing high levels of engineering standards, ensuring the campus is running effectively and efficiently.

The Successful Applicant

To secure this position, you will possess a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in engineering, preferably in facilities and property management. You will have successfully led large teams, preferably within civil & community properties (hospitals, schools, museums, state-owned etc) and will have a solid background in engineering as well as project management. Ideally you will be bilingual English and Mandarin Chinese to enable you to liaise effectively with all internal and external stakeholders. Your interpersonal and team skills, as well as customer-orientation and energy levels will be outstanding.
