Job Descriptions:

- Responsible for assisting in the testing, verification of compliance of products sourced through the Head of Strategic Sourcing Group and ensuring that retained suppliers meet the stringent technical and approvals requirements for each served market.
- In depth understanding in compliance documentation requirements for products required for overseas markets and to gather, verify and maintain all certification of existing and new products sourced by the SSG team.
- Develop and maintain an effective supplier audit process that ensures that any product liability risks are managed and mitigated. Assist the product marketing teams in effective choice of suppliers and implement appropriate product testing for mains powered products.
- Familiarity of product testing processes and procedures necessary to test mains powered products during sample evaluation, pre shipment and post shipment stages.

As a member of the team, carry out compliance evaluation of the OEM/ODM manufacturers for Premier Farnell’s Private label program:
- Work with the Product team to assess the Private Label certification documentation requirements for a product and ensure that submitted documentation matches products requested
- Review and verify OEM’s supplier’s product testing compliance to relevant IEC/IEEE/CE standards
- Perform technical specification evaluation of a Private label product to ensure spec matching of PF requirement
- Conduct evaluation of OEM supplier’s design methodology, design process and design documentation
- Monitor and communicate changes in standards and processes to product team and suppliers.
- Consult with product team and suppliers on a variety of products providing regulatory approvals expertise
- Participate in the development of strategies, schedules, and budgets for executing the approvals and compliance portion of our product life cycles

Job Requirements:

- Ability to work within the SSG team with linkages to extended teams in Europe, Americas and Asia
- High number of skus across many suppliers means inconsistent levels of standardization
- Speed and accuracy of intervention
- Understanding of compliance certification requirements
- Ability to maintain highest quality standards when transport deadlines bring pressure to ship
- Managing solid technical relationships with key suppliers to ensure documentation and safety compliance
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, CE, UL and MIL documentation requirements
- As least 3 yrs of hands-on experience in regulatory approvals and product testing experience for electrical equipment
- Broad technical knowledge in electronic products with proven commercial experience and integrity
- Previous experience of sourcing in Asia useful
