This person is responsible to manage projects to ensure transportation operations are run with enhanced processes and optimized cost in Asia and in line with TE policies and procedures. The candidate needs to drive carriers and internal stakeholders for KPI improvement, compliance to TE policies and procedures, transportation operations efficiency through process improvements. Be the Asia center for transportation best practices building knowledge from the logistics industry and counterparts in other regional or local operations. Play an important role in regional transportation sourcing strategy and continuous improvement of transportation policies and procedures. Provide data analysis when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this position, the candidate will be responsible for the initiation and execution of transportation optimization or improvement projects in Asia within TE Global Logistics through data analysis and program/project management methodologies. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Engage key stakeholders (e.g. Global Logistics operations in Asia, Business Units, cross-functional teams, external carriers, etc.), define and coordinate activities, communicate changes and progress, build commitment, overcome resistance and lead projects that focus on improving total landed cost, innovation, continuous improvement and carrier compliance, through extensive data analysis, in order to ensure critical regional transportation KPI targets are achieved
- Work towards improving shipment lead times as well as handling standards of appointed carriers
- Drive productivity programs with Carriers
- Monitor/review and analyze transportation cost trend regularly with Business Units and provide improvement recommendations when needed
- Support or work with the Network Design team where possible to achieve improved supply chain set up
- Process improvement using TEOA-T (TE Operation Advantage Transportation) methodology
- Lead supplier performance improvement or transportation sourcing projects when needed
- Be responsible for and manage projects from inception through delivery, ensuring completion of the project objectives on schedule and within budget constraints
- Develop detailed project charter and plan (e.g. goals, objectives, strategy, scope, budget, scheduling, risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, approach, deliverables, timelines, etc.) utilizing project management disciplines and methodologies including process analysis, mapping and flow charting to ensure synchronization of processes and systems
- Conduct post-mortem assessment of project performance/success (both operational and financial)
- Provide expertise, leadership, guidance and supervision to cross-functional and/or multi-unit teams regarding forecasting, tracking and executing project related tasks, budget, and resource allocation
- Manage, lead or participate multiple projects simultaneously
- Be familiar with TE transportation data systems/reports and provide data analysis when needed
- Be the Asia center for transportation best practices building knowledge from the logistics industry and counterparts in other regional or local operations

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or Logistics or Purchasing (an M.B.A. or a related Master's degree is preferred), with at least 5 years operations and/or project management experience in Logistics or Transportation or Supply Chain. Experience in High Tech/Electronics manufacturing environment is a plus. Additional qualifications include:
- Knowledge of Logistics/Supply Chain operations and processes and supplier management
- Knowledge of program or project management methodologies
- Knowledge of the Logistics operations and transportation systems (industry and within TE)
- Strong negotiations and/or influencing skills
- Good analytical, problem solving
- Good presentation and communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
- Good program or project management skills
- Strategic thinking, team player,
- Ability to multi-task and local/regional business acumen
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel
- Procurement or sourcing experience is a plus
