About Advisory, Deals, Transaction Services Team:

Our Transaction Services team, part of our Advisory practice in the Firm, offers fully integrated pre- and post-acquisition services to reputable strategic buyers and financial investors.


Our post deal services team provides holistic solutions to help buyers realize value from their deals by delivering purpose-built solutions to the challenges identified during the acquisition process.


Our approach leverages the insights gained from due diligence to help strategic and financial buyers plan how to take control of their investments, determine short term stabilization requirements and identify the improvements that will deliver long term value from their investment, as part of value creation plans or post-merger integration projects.


We help our clients with expert teams combining functional expertise across the board (Strategy, Operations, Finance, IT and HR) with deep project management skills.

Our overarching objective is to help Deliver Deal Value for our clients investing in China.
As we expand our existing post-deal service offering, we are looking to recruit consultants with extensive Finance or HR background combined with deep post-deal integration experience, in order to:

  • Advise CEOs, CFOs, HR Directors and other business executives in leadership and execution of deals
  • Perform specific services and procedures around deal closing
  • Post acquisition, lead Finance or HR workstreams, or larger post-merger integration projects with multiple workstreams

The successful candidate will be interested in a career in the deal-focused consulting industry.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for new consultants vary depending on seniority, experience, and projects. In general, junior team members will focus more on individual project delivery, whereas senior team members will have greater responsibilities in terms of coaching, business development, and service development.

  • Identify opportunities and scope out projects;
  • Deliver projects in accordance to agreed scope of work;
  • Interact with the management of the business and develop long-term relationships with them;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, during the projects and as part of overall business development efforts;
  • Identify service opportunities and work with relevant functional specialists (across different Business Units/Lines of Services) to sell these opportunities to clients;
  • Perform risk management procedures including drafting engagement letters and budgeting projects;
  • Manage deliverables and project economics;
  • Contribute to the development of the team and the firm, through coaching and training other team members;
  • Develop our service offering to continuously match market requirements; and
  • Carry out business development activities.


Reporting structure & key relationships:
Reporting to: senior managers, associate directors, directors

Requirements:
Basic requirements

  • Several years of relevant experience in a senior finance role (e.g. financial controller) ideally combining reputable domestic corporate with MNC employment, with significant experience of leading post-deal integration in the finance function;
  • Alternatively, several years of relevant experience as a consultant in a reputable consulting firm, focusing on post-deal integration, with a strong finance function focus;
  • CICPA qualified or equivalent and technically sound; deep practical experience essential;

Further requirements

  • Experienced in the areas of budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, AP and AR process management;
  • Evidence of ability to lead finance function change projects;
  • Deep understanding of the issues impacting the finance function following a transaction;
  • Proven track record of building relationships and ability to sell consulting services by leveraging knowledge and expertise to create value for clients and the firm;
  • Big Four accounting firm or equivalent background an advantage;
  • Experienced in managing a team of staff on medium-sized projects;
  • Experienced in working with domestic companies essential and with foreign MNCs would be an advantage;
  • Excellent business sense and commercially aware;
  • Native Mandarin speaker and excellent communication skills in English; and
  • Bright, team players, who work effectively under pressure.
