Summary of Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation, testing in a telecommunications manufacturing environment. Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming.
The incumbent must also be able to read designs and layouts, review bill of materials, and schematics. The incumbent must also have experience reading and red-lining drawings. Basic English verbal and written communication skills required.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical leadership and the ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices, exhibit excellent communication skills, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion. This person will be one of the project technical leaders and will be responsible for project management activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
? Plan and execute projects to continuously improve manufacturing processes with attention toward reduced cost while maintaining world-class quality and safety.
? Develop model based control solutions using Matlab and Simulink to achieve manufacturing system goals.
? Document controls and software requirements.
? Identify and develop test requirements in the verification and validation of controls systems used in the manufacturing environment.
? Assist Process Engineers in the development of controls architectures and controls models used as the basis of robust and standardized manufacturing process.
? Provide direct manufacturing process support including non-controls based projects as required.
? Conduct calibration and tuning of equipment and systems used in manufacturing

Education and Qualifications
? BS in Electrical, Automatic Controls, Industrial Controls or Controls Engineering
? 3-5 years experience developing real time embedded systems preferably in a high-technology manufacturing environment
? Strong Engineering analysis skills
? Knowledge of statistical process control and Lean Manufacturing methods
? Possess demonstrated project management skills
? Basic English communication skills including spoken English and ability to read and write English.
? Ability to work in a team environment.
? Expertise with:
o PLC controls
o Modeling and designing data elements
o Programming Control Logix Redundant PLC system
o Operation, calibration, and maintenance of various electronic instrumentation
o Electronic design experience with manufacturing plant start-ups preferred
