Responsibilities:

1. Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translates these into software designs.

2. Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and/or port to different platforms.

3. Tests software designs and code at the unit and system level to insure that all requirements are met and the highest software quality is achieved.

4. Participates in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout program.

5. Coordinates software development activities with software team leader.

6. Identifies product requirement or performance issues. Works with software team leader to negotiate resolution.

7. Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate software development.

8. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups.

9. Manages small projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating and follow through.

10.Working knowledge of software development tools (debugger's, emulators, compilers, etc).

11.Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware.

12.Able to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for trouble shooting.

13.Working knowledge of software development processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent.

2. 2+ years of embedded software development or testing.

3. 2+ years of C/C++ or other structured language.

Position Requirements:

Willingness to travel 10% of the time
