This Instructional Designer will work on assigned projects with individual academic staff to consult, develop and complete web-based content for university programmes and module. The Instructional Designer reports to the Manager, of the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Office.

Responsibilities:

1. Support academic staff to design roadmap of web-based content for module or programme

2. Work on design of instructional materials, including page layout, interactive quizzes, multimedia content, discussion forums, etc.

3. Track project progress on content creation

4. Develop integration plans for purchased web content from textbook publishers with university content

5. Work with internal and outsourced multimedia developers

6. Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing e-content

7. Assist in evaluation, testing, implementation and training related to e-content

Qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, digital media art, information systems, or educational technology

2. Three to six years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in web design, instructional design, interaction design, information architecture design, project management, and education, Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

3. Excellent communication skills in English

4. Ability to track project status, and report effectively to project sponsors

5. Experience configuring a Virtual Learning Environment, such as Moodle, is an asset.
