Assistant Pre-School Director/PYP Coordinator (Based in Singapore)
The Assistant Pre-school Director/PYP Coordinator will support the Pre-School Director PSD on daily operations and staffing matters and lead the team in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities in the following areas:
Documentation
- You will ensure that publications pertaining to the PYP section of the school are available to all staff members
- You will establish and review the school’s Programme of Inquiry and curriculum scope and sequence documents
- You will manage and maintain archives of all PYP planning documents as well as evidence of the PYP Exhibition
- Participate in the formation of the school‘s action plan
Professional Development
- You will ensure all staff members are made aware of professional development opportunities and make recommendations regarding professional development opportunities on and off campus
- You will support teacher in making connections and facilitating visits to other educational establishments in Singapore as part of their professional development.
Resource Management
- Suggest suitable recourses to support the implementation of the programme to Pre-School Director.
- Be responsible for an inventory of resources to facilitate efficient management
Communication
- Liaise with the IBO on all matters pertaining to the Primary Years Programme
- Set up systems for communication and collaboration between all staff members
- Conduct parent information sessions
- Publish articles pertaining to the programme in the school newsletter
- Circulate all relevant information received from the IBO
- Prepare and submit any documentation required for authorization and evaluation
- Ensure that all the requirements of the IBO concerning the implementation of the programme are adhered to
- Provide outreach to the wider PYP community through discussion forums, e-mail and school visits
Management
- To support the PSD on daily operations and staffing matters, as required
- To assume overall responsibility for daily operations and staffing in the absence of the PSD
Job Requirements
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Care and / or Education from a recognised University with 6 - 8 years of direct work experience in an international pre-school
- Strong knowledge and experience in PYP curriculum
- Experience in developing inquiry driven play based curriculum
- Highly developed intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience in management and leadership is desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Applicants must be fluent English speakers, not necessarily native English speakers
- International experience, especially in Asia is highly regarded;
- Willingness to commit to a 2 year contract.
