Reporting to the Managing Director of euroscript China and in close relation with the group’s executive level, in charge of Business Unit, Language Services. His /Her working objectives are to ensure management and continuous development of all euroscript China, Language Services; to lead language service management team and supervise project management, assignment and production processes; to ensure effective cost control and analysis to reach profitability of the projects

Job duties:

1. Set objectives and monitor results of the Language Service Department and their member performance, take all the actions necessary to ensure fully functional, flexible and cost-efficient Language Service Department.

2. Supervise and monitor project execution ensuring compliance to deadlines, costs, procedures, methodology customer requirements and defined quality standards including status reporting according to the relevant Project Quality Plans. Introduce preventive measures to avoid late deliveries or quality complaints.

3. Monitor project management and production team performance and take necessary measures to achieve the set performance goals.

4. Provide for effective tools to report on and analyse project and team KPIs to ensure comprehensive result comparison across projects and teams across different time periods and to provide basis for operational decisions. En sure regular assessment and appropriate feedback on KPIs to language teams.

5. Ensure regular quality evaluation and control procedures to maintain consistent quality in all the major projects as well as to obtain objective quality evaluation records.

6. Handle customer feedback including complaints according to the euroscript complaint management process in collaboration with Quality Manager and ensure corrective and preventive actions.

7. Carry out customer satisfaction surveys and implement improvements as derived from relevant findings.

8. Analyse market trends and competitor offerings and take necessary actions to maintain competitiveness of euroscript language services in the market. Take part in developing service pricing policies.

9. Support Business Development by assigning necessary resources and setting up suitable workflows to manage new projects and business offerings.

10. Ensure all the relevant financial information for cost analyses and correct customer invoicing.

11. Report to superiors.

12. Responsible for calculating BU budget, presenting to superiors and controlling the relevant costs against the said budget throughout the year.


Profile requirement:
1. A completed university degree (business management education preferred, English or translation & interpreting major is acceptable)

2. At least above 3 years in business management of Language Service Industry.

3. Experience in coordinating and managing translation production processes, excellent organizational, managerial, leadership, communication and coaching skills.

4. Well-developed customer orientation and account management.

5. Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, experience in strategic planning and business development.

6. Excellent organisational and time management skills, strong stress resistance.

7. Capability in hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.

8. Ability to meet tight deadlines, organize heavy workloads and complex project situations.

9. Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks.

10. Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, e-mail and presentation.

11. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare business reports and projections.

12. Excellent English and good knowledge of Chinese, other languages mastering will be an asset.

13. Very good general computer skills (MS Office, especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)

14. Interest and knowledge about the LS industry.

15. Knowledge of widely spread professional tools (such as SDL Trados, across, STAR Transit and other related).

16. Self-motivated, proactive and confident.

17. Result-oriented and capable of working independently.

18. Positive attitude in dealing with people.

19. Motivated and flexible in meeting tight deadlines and heavy workloads.
