JOB TITLE: Engineering Manager

REPORTS TO: General Manager

Summary:

The Engineering Manager develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The incumbent recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. This person is responsible for all technical operations of materials, methods and machines. The Engineering Manager directs the engineering department to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing necessary duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plans and formulates aspects of research and development proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements.
• Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
• Problem Resolution
• Selects, coach, mentor, train, and set expectations for engineering staff.
• Reviews and analyzes proposals to determine cost / value benefits.
• Working with the Manufacturing, Quality and Sales to analyze product/process improvement including cost reduction, quality improvement, and production efficiency and new product development.
• Support operations in researching, designing and developing manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment for optimization
• Directs appropriate support for Manufacturing and Quality functions within the organization.
• Interface with internal counterparts, customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Assess equipment needs, research solutions, prepare equipment proposals.
• Accountable for the successful completion of assigned engineering tasks and preparation of engineering deliverables.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related Technical Degree and/or 10+ years Industrial experience.
• Must be able to assist General Manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
• Experience in project management, problem solving, and design troubleshooting. Must have strong analytical skills and is a good people leader
