Summary:

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Jawbone’s product and sub-component reliability requirements are met. This China-based position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Quality & Reliability.

Essential Functions:

• Develop Reliability Plan based upon Jawbone Quality and Reliability Goals set during Concept phase of Product Development.
• Participates in New Product Development reviews, makes risk assessments and has inputs to product release decisions.
• Facilitates Design for Reliability activities with the Development team such as Lessons Learned, DFMEA and Gap Analysis.
• Works directly with suppliers to ensure their parts can meet Jawbone’s Reliability requirements and that those requirements are clearly communicated and understood.
• Develops Reliability Test Plans and Procedures. Supervises the execution of the testing at component level and system level.
• Drives Failure Analysis - Root Cause and Closed Loop Corrective Action for any failures that occur during Reliability Testing.
• Makes timely decisions and risk assessments regarding reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Creates Reliability test reports and Management summary reports showing progress of Reliability Test Plan.

Skills/Desired Experience:

· Engineering or Technical Degree, BS, MS and/or MBA preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or Reliability Engineering.

· Minimum 7-10 years consumer electronics Hardware product technical support, design and/or manufacturing experience.

· Minimum 3 years direct working experience as a Reliability Engineer

· Experience in Mechanical/Materials/Electronic testing, process quality

· Certified Quality or Reliability Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt

· Ability to work independently with minimum direction

· Excellent problem solving, failure analysis and analytical skills.

· Excellent English verbal and writing skills

· Good team work and communication skills.

· Some international travel may be required
