Field Application Engineer (Resident)

General Purpose of this position: Understand customer requirements (VOC) and introduce TE auto products to customers. Provide technical support and engineering service to customers for customer satisfaction.
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Location: Chang Chun

Responsibilities:

• Understand customers' technical requirements and development process to identify the potential opportunity to use TE products;
• Translate customer tech requirements into product design specifications and provide inputs to product design teams;
• Promote TE advantage, capabilities and wide products families to customers. Guide customer to use TE products in correct manner ( both in manufacturing process and application on car, etc)
• Coordinate and follow up customer complains. Conduct failure analysis, test and prepare report for internal and external reviews.
• Support the prototype samples making, testing and shipment as required.
• Work with customers closely and maintain trusty relationship through quick response, professional work and high quality results; Act as a technical contact point among customer, plant, R&D center team.
• Participate or organize project review meeting with internal and external teams;
• Manage and track all the open issues to be resolved on schedule. Report work tasks and projects status to engineer manager on a regular basis;
• Improve application work process to meet LEANPD, TE procedures and TS16949 requirements.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor degree or above, majored in mechanical, electronic engineering or automation engineering;
• Have experience in key automotive OEM or suppliers for 5 plus years, with knowledge of product design, quality, process & project management;
• Master Pro/e or Caitia 3D software
• Skilled in Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T);
• Be familiar with automotive industry procedure & process, such as TS16949, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, 6 Sigma is a plus.
• Good communication ability that be able to understand the voice of customer
• Good at English language ability in reading, writing and speaking;
• Good computer skills of Microsoft word, excel, presentation;
• Able to work effectively in a team environment.
