Purpose of the Job
Promote and develop (new) key accounts for a specific market within an assigned region or industry in order to increase market share for the division.
Accountability 1
Contribute to the defining and executing (after approval of the Area Sales Manager or the General
Manager) of a tactical commercial and competitive client approach/plan in order to transform opportunities into incremental sales relations.
This includes among others the following tasks
- Define an account plan, follow up and monitor status and progress and report regularly to the Business Unit Manager
- Identify strategic key players/decision makers as clients and develop long-term relationships with them
- Define pricing and margin together with the Area Sales manager/General Manager
- Submit and negotiate quotations and price roadmap
- Conclude sales contracts together with the Business Unit Manager
Accountability 2
Scan, analyze and study the market issues and opportunities, identify and understand the specific needs of potential strategic business partners in order to develop the client portfolio.
This includes among others the following tasks
- Detect client needs, market trends, projects, investments, alliances opportunities in a methodic and systematic way in order to be able to build an appropriate action plan
- Build and maintain knowledge about potential customers and their sales process
Understand the customers' strategies
- Analyze the activities of the competition and elaborate a (re)action plan
- Attract new customers
Accountability 3
Build (strategic) relationships with external parties (key accounts, R&D responsible at clients, industry and trade associations) and internal partners (local GM, within other Business and Support units (i.e. Engineering) in order to represent the division towards the right forums, organizations, target clients and others in order to facilitate a fertile basis for Vitalo's image and business.
This includes among others the following tasks
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships/contacts up to the highest level within the customer’s organization
- Create network for lobbying
- Develop internal contacts within the division essential for business development
Accountability 4
Carry out marketing activities, propose and implement marketing actions in order to increase Vitalo's brand image in target market segments, use his/her own knowledge of the Chinese culture as well as exposure to western companies in order to increase existing business with current customers and to advance in opening new businesses.
Accountability 5
Act as a key-player between the market and the engineering department and to a lesser degree
between the market and operations (production, quality, logistics) in order to guide clients' projects
successfully through the internal Vitalo organization.
This includes among others the following tasks
- Inform on customer needs and expectations by communicating with engineering & operations
Departments
- Give feedback on customers' comments or claims for improvement of the products or the
processes within the organization
- Ensure a timely response to all potential accounts inquiries
- Issue PDR for new projects, DEN for projects and requests for first article (FA) approval of the
customer
Accountability 6
Execute various sales actions within the assigned region or industry in order to meet the team sales targets.

- English: read, understand, write and speak
- Local language: mother tongue
Other:
- Communication skills: be able to articulate technical matters in a very clear way, be able to talk to inhouse
Vitalo engineers and communicate the ideas to customers in a form easily understood
- Organizational skills: be able to organize him/herself effectively
- Be familiar with routine forecasting, sales targets, reporting, market research and development
- Have a keen sense of judgment, negotiation and people skills must have been developed in past
