The Field Application Engineer will provide sales/support capacity of TE and to engage in designing appropriate products for Customer applications that meet performance requirements and cost targets.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance and support to Customers during design stage.
Solve application problems (including debugging) for Customer issues.
Work closely with the Sales team in the region to provide technical assistance, engineering proposals, customer training, site service, technical advice, demonstrations, presentations and engineering design to introduce TE Technologies/Products to meet customer needs.
Interface with product management and engineering departments within TE to ensure satisfactory fulfilment of all commitments to customer. Work with internal departments to ensure all issues pertaining to the customer are managed satisfactorily.
Maintain effective communication channel between customers and TE. Strengthen technical relationship with R & D and manufacturing teams in Customer sites.
Provide support in resolving appropriate sales and quality issues.
Work closely with Program Managers and Sales Engineers to manage project timelines and ensure ‘on-time’ completion of TE action points.
To assist and ensure prototype parts are ordered and delivered to schedule. All documentation/specifications are created and submitted to qualify parts as per customer requirements.
25% ~ 50% travel time visiting TE's customers.

Education & Qualifications
Advanced engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with > 10 years engineering experience.
Previous experience as FAE’s from the Connector Industry is preferred. Alternatively, Engineers who has experience with design and application of Connector products at our key Customers in China is considered.
Product analysis investigation of customer products as part of the design process and report to the customer as required.
Timely and frequent written and verbal reporting on customer interaction and application details as required.
Background in Connector Industry or use of connector type products in Consumer applications such as Smartphones, Tablets and PC’s.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
Proactive and possess high sense of responsibility with a willingness to take ownership of critical tasks and drive to successful completion.
Experience in Customer facing situations and ability to deliver effective technical presentations
English proficiency.
