This position is for those who play a role as a journalist responsible for the Chinese news and feature report, and editor of Chinese news publications. In addition, he or she should do some medial liaison work and give guidance to Student News Centre.

Chinese journalist duties:

1. Writing daily news report, uploading to the official website.

2.Taking pictures for news report.

3. Keeping in touch with the academic and administrative departments and units to collect the news clues and give feedback information in time.

4. Research the situation and policy of the higher education, and the development about the other Sino-foreign cooperated universities, to write some depth report about the development of this education industry.

5. Assisting English news report when necessary.

Chinese editor duties:

1. Be responsible for Chinese news and feature report, making sure of the accuracy of the reports and in charge of the proofreading.

2. Assisting making of Chinese news publications, such as WAY TO XJTLU,FACES, including the topics chosen, feature writing, articles collection, etc.

3. In charge of the office documents collection.

Other duties:

1. Giving professional guidance about Chinese news writing to the Student News Center.

2. Assisting news chief editor to do the media liaison work domestically.

3. Cooperating with English journalist and video journalist.

4. Backing up the cross-function projects of office.

5. Giving guidance to relevant intern.

Skills and Knowledge:

1. Positive, passionate, motivate, hard-working, responsible, pay attention to details, skilled in arranging things orderly, ability of information integration.

2. Great sensitive nose for news report, and professional skills in news reporting.

3. Work independently under great pressures and collaboratively with teammates.

4. Broad knowledge of journalism, communication and high education.

5. Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills both in English and Chinese.

6. Good command of using the digital camera, and with basic knowledge of PhotoShop software.

7. Good skills of time management.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Master Degree or above with academic backgrounds in Journalism, Communication, Education, Chinese Language and Literature, and other relevant subject areas.

2. Experience as journalist or intern in media is highly appreciated.

3. Working experience in university or relevant is preferred.

4. Culture awareness and cross-cultural communication background and skills are plus.
