General Purpose

Work as a member of a global PMO and is responsible for the overall planning, execution, control and completion of specific projects within the organization's IT project portfolio.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Direct and manage project teams from initiation through post release
• Develop and maintain documentation such as: the project charter, scope, schedule, work breakdown structure, deliverables, critical milestones, stakeholder identification, communication matrix, action log, lessons learned, etc.
• Provide estimates, coordinate resources and provide input to the overall general project planning process
• define project tasks and resource requirements
• Develop accurate resource and cost estimates
• Develop full scale project plans
• Track resource time and spend against project estimates
• Track all aspects of projects such as scope, objectives, deliverables, scheduling, milestones, resourcing, interdependencies and risk management
• Analyze and develop organizational process flows
• Manage project budgets - e.g., costs and schedule
• Report project metrics to all project stakeholders including senior management
• Plan and schedule project timelines
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
• Provide direction and support to project team
• Develop and manage project quality plans
• Constantly monitor and report on project status, milestones, timelines, and budget to all stakeholders
• Perform project and portfolio change management
• Identify, track, escalate and resolve project issues appropriately and in a timely manner
• Manage scope and resolve obstacles and issues as they arise, both functional and inter-personal
• Actively manage risk and mitigation by involving the appropriate employees, vendors, consultants, etc.
• Act as liaison/agent between IT and client for requirements and assumptions clarification or validation, compromise or agreement mediation, and to close information gaps
• Escalate and clearly communicate major project issues in an appropriate and timely manner, for prompt resolution, and provide regular communications to all interested parties regarding project status
• Ensure organizational KPIs are the priority for project selection
• Execute project evaluations and assessment of results

Experience

• Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
• Knowledge of different project management methodologies - e.g. Waterfall, agile, spiral, etc.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
• Direct work experience in project management capacity
• Experience managing teams and project resources
