The SECTL Manager in CIS China engineering organization will lead the test lab engineering team responsible for the verification and qualification testing of electrical components (primarily electrical connectors) for a variety of industries concentrated on automotive, PC, consumer electronics, mobile devices, datacomm, industrial, and (solar) energy. As a key member of CIS China engineering leadership team, this candidate is required to have a high degree of initiative, technical competence, knowledge of electronic component testing methodology and excellent communication skills to collaborate with other global TE test labs. Particularly, he/she is expected to optimize lab resource usage, develop and track metrics to drive lab productivity improvement year-over-year through (process) innovation and six-sigma / lean tools. In addition to day to day operation, the candidate will also need to create and work within an annual budget, develop future growth plans, oversee capital improvement and lab maintenance plans. Finally, the candidate needs to demonstrate his/her leadership capability by rallying the team with a common vision and continuing to improve their engagement.

A successful candidate will have/exhibit:

• Min 5 years experience in a laboratory setting with proven managerial experience in successfully leading and growing the team
• TE's core value such as integrity, accountability, innovation and teamwork
• Strong influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple functions outside of the test lab such as product engineering.
• An in-depth understanding of electrical connector testing procedures that include EIA, IEC, MIL standards and agency requirements such as UL, TUV and CSA
• Mindset of continual productivity improvement through process innovation and 6 sigma/lean tools; A green belt or black belt preferred
• Business acumen to run the test lab like a business to maintain hourly-rate competitive
• Willingness to work under pressure
• Minimum bachelor degree in engineering or science; master degree is preferred;
