Key Responsibilities

New Tool Development
(i) Lead/conduct manufacturability assessment along with tooling suppliers and product design
(ii) Participate in concept and development design review meetings for the purpose of evaluating tooling requirements, provide technical input for product/part design, moulding concept and construction, and injection moulding process development to achieve robust and capable processes, cost effective solutions, and high quality products.
(iii) Evaluate/assess new tooling options, investments and piece price from technical perspective.
(iv) Confirm the feasibility, cost & lead time for mould modification in the event of part design change.
(v) provide technical training to R&D and operation related users
in order to successfully develop new materials within project spending, timeline and quality targets.

Continuous improvement & Innovation
Conduct tool/process improvement (as feasibility research, target setting, design, testing, document drafting and presentation) and lead some projects
in order to improve the product quality and operating process efficiency.

Technical Support
(i) Strengthen the mold management in all suppliers by visiting suppliers and participate the supplier audit in tooling capacity.
(i) Monitor suppliers in mold development and provide guideline to suppliers or quality in terms of mold validation if necessary
(iii) Support moulding suppliers to establish stable, capable process to meet product requirements, improve quality and reduce cost for new and existing products.
(iv) Analyze machine & tool problems and select the proper steps to correct the problem, assure moulds produce parts within specification to support in-house moulding, GEL filling process/tooling.
(v) Provide support on new mould supplier setup.

Job Requirements

(i)Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Moulding Engineering
(ii)Min. 5 years experience in plastic moulding engineering & process with 2 years of mould design experience
(iii).Professional at plastic material usage/ application, good working knowledge of polymers, tooling materials, injection machine setting and plastic mould manufacturing.

(iv).Strong practical background in moulding troubleshooting & improvement and strong analytical skills (moldflow, DOE, statistical engineering).

(v) Self-motivated, ability to work independently and can work under pressure, Practical problem-solving, coordination ability and interpersonal skills, Good in time management and planning, Good teamwork and cooperation spirit, Familiar with 3D design software, Pro-E, UG etc.
