Account Manager for EMS

BU - Data Communications
Location - Shanghai


General:
The Account Manager is the outside sales person for a number of strategic accounts in EMS industry. The function reports directly into Regional Sales Manager and has to strive for a strong professional relation/collaboration with multiple other functions within the organization; especially with global EMS/OEM team. The position will be based in Shanghai.

Key Tasks:
Relationship Management and Demand Creation
? Continuously caring for a good trusting relationship between the customer and TE
? Stay in permanent direct contact (visits, email, phone) with the customer to ensure ongoing support and communication
? Select and introduce (new) products and services, considering the customers’ needs
? Sell the value propositions of Tyco Electronics’ products and services
? Detect new opportunities and drive the project
o Coordinate with internal disciplines to serve the customer on time in terms of quotations, quality complaints, logistics, technical information, account receivables, etc
? Engage and drive the TE organization to support and respond in timeframe & quality level that the customer expects (e.g. logistics, quality, etc.)
? Conscientious follow up on open issues and opportunities
o Help the outside sales personnel, Engineering, Product Management and Industry Marketing to identify new business opportunities and to execute strategy.

Strategic Account Planning, in line with the overall company and business unit goals:
o Develop and execute business plan and account strategy in line with customers time to market requirements
? Analyse the existing customer
? Define and develop an account strategy/plan
? Gain, correctly interpret and apply to all kind of research results (markets, competition, technologies, trends)

Key Goals & Objectives/Measurements:
? $ Revenue Growth, Market Share, Profitability
? Customer penetration
? Customer satisfaction
? Accounts Receivables Management

Other Duties:
? Prepare and discuss offers and quotations as well as leading price and contract negotiations at customer
? Follow up on running opportunities/projects and on financial matters such as cash flow payments, and credit concessions, account receivables
? Internal reporting of projects and other business activities
? Keep updated with regard to products, technologies and market trends and environmental changes

Key Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge:
? Must have minimum a bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering degree Minimum three to five years professional level Sales experience
? Needs a professional level of business acumen and good commercial understanding
? Needs a good understanding of technical complexes
? Engineering background in electro-mechanics/electronics
? Should have had previous experience in account planning and relationship management
? Optimally have a deep and broad knowledge of the Tyco Electronics’ technology and product portfolio and the markets they serve
? Previous exposure to TE processes and structures will be an advantage
? Previous exposure to EMS industry will be an advantage

Particular Skills & Abilities Required:
? Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE)
? Strong project management skills
? Strong selling, presentation and negotiation skills
? Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities
? Ability to work toward targets and to identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with business plans
