Job Description:

1.Ensure the effectiveness of supplier selection and qualification activities
2.Conduct the periodic inspections, when necessary on supplier manufacturing process to ensure the required quality of products/parts
3.Cooperate, coordinate and work closely with NPD and NPI teams to ensure the highest quality level possible for incoming materials used in product development build
4.Perform critical analysis of battery (cell and pack) operating, testing and performance
5.Recommend and evaluate state-of-the-art battery testing equipment and procedures, consistent with industry standards to qualify the battery from new and existing suppliers
6.Execute process and system audits to 2nd and 3rd tier suppliers
7.Implement PPAP process at key battery suppliers
8.Reviews supplier's Quality Assurance plans and process capability studies
9.Validate and qualify the supplier manufacturing control plan, FMEAs, data sheets and all other related data to ensure the quality of parts purchased
10.Proactively drives speedy resolution of issues impacting quality and reliability with suppliers
11.Reviews and approves thoroughly 8D reports to verify effectiveness of solutions and CAPA
12.Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability test plan at parts level with 1st and 2nd tier suppliers
13.Conduct reliability studies using statistical models to predict the quality risks prior to shipping
14.Works well in fast-paced team-oriented culture in different time zones


Experience/Qualifications:
1.University graduate in electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering or related field with research or development experience in battery technology
2.Minimum 8 years work experience in batteries and electromechanical parts
3.Greater than 3 years industrial experience in a battery Company
4.Certified quality and reliability engineer
5.More experienced candidate may be considered for Sr. SQE role


Skills Required:
1.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese Languages
2.Six Sigma Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer is desired
3.Expert on FMEA, PPAP, Statistical Process Control, reliability studies and other quality methodologies
4.Advanced user of MS Office package
5.Excellent cross-functional teamwork and project management skills
6.Advanced level data analysis and reporting skills
7.Ability to work proactively and independently
8.Ability to travel domestically and internationally
9.No stranger to hard work
