Job Description
1. 2D / 3D CAD in Solid Edge
2. 3D CAD Translation into Solid Edge from other file format
3. 3D CAD Translation into STEP, IGES etc
4. FEA Analysis, AVI and JPEG
5. DCR/ECN (Drawing Change Requests and Engineering Change Notes)
6. Intelligent 2D drawings driven by 3D sensor family Model
7. Provide Local China CAD Support
8. Provide Training and CAD support as required
9. Create, change and maintain the following drawing types from information provided by other staff members globally.
Product Design Support Tasks
1. New Product design using 3D CAD modeling system.
2. Product design enhancements through CI & VAVE projects.
3. Support development of bookshelve and standard products.
4. Use tools such as FMEA as a pro-active engineering quality method to help identify and counter weak points in the early conception phase.
5. Support the design in of low cost materials from low cost countries.
6. Perform feasibility analysis using simulation techniques and real life testing via DOE and other test methods. Program Management / Project Development Support Tasks
1. Use of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and associated documents.
2. Project manage multiple tasks/projects to ensure Hamlin measurables are met.
3. Use and develop Lessons Learned system.
Culture & Environment
1. Work within the Hamlin Design Factory Culture and Process of product development.
2. Requirement to support the Global Hamlin Business Unit with Engineering support, travel may be required to perform training for this job function.
3. Expectation to work hard to maintain the Design Factory culture that has been evolved.
4. Engineering knowledge is expected to be shared to develop projects across the business.
5. Expectation to attend out of hours shows, seminars and training events as and when appropriate.
6. Use of Brainstorm sessions within engineering and with external resources as and when appropriate.

Job Specific Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Degree in Engineering, Physics or related subject.
2. 2 to 3 years experience in a similar environment Good organizational and team working skills
3. English language skills (able to read, interpret and write)
Preferred Experience
1. Automotive within a QS9000/TS16949 environment.
2. Automotive industry product design will be an advantage, with experience of products used in ‘under bonnet’ / engine compartment environment.
3. Working to budget and time constraints
4. Demonstrate latest automotive design technologies and principles
5. Demonstrate product design material choices and tolerance specifications.
6. Proven CAD task delivery experience.
7. Demonstrate product design material choices and tolerance specifications
8. English language skills (oral is optional)
Experience of these Process and/or manufacturing techniques would be advantageous
1. Injection Moulded Plastic Part Design
2. Insert Moulded Plastic / Metal Part Design
3. Electo-mechanical product design packaging
4. PCB Assembly / PCB Design
5. Low Pressure Overmoulding
