Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject.
Proven track record of successful product design and development with a Minimum of 3 years 3D modelling experience.
Proven project management experience.
Teamwork skills
Automotive industry sensor design will be an advantage.
Good English in both oral and written.
Mature and responsible leader with the ability to both work in teams as well as to lead, drive and motivate teams.
3D model software experience, such as Solid Edge/UG/Catia.
Be familiar with GD&T of plastic parts.
Basic electronic knowledge
Hall Sensor industry experience will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Product Design
Costing model build for each project to analyze the router/BOM/Tooling.
Custom product concept design and development through Hamlin Design Factory in response to Sales department enquiries.
New Product design using 3D CAD modelling system.
Product design enhancements through CI & VAVE projects.
Scope, define and develop bookshelve and standard products of Hamlin.
Use tools such as FMEA as a pro-active engineering quality method to help identify and counter weak points in the early conception phase.
DV/PV plan draft regarding environment test.
Perform feasibility analysis using simulation techniques and real life testing via DOE and other test methods.
Program Management / Project Development
Use of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and associated document.
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver Hamlin projects launches on time and budget. Ensure that these teams achieve all customer and company requirements for (new or changed products) programs including quality, cost, delivery, product performance and customer satisfaction—a “flawless launch”.
Maintain good communication within the company, customer and suppliers
Project manage multiple projects to ensure Hamlin APQP measurables are met.
Perform and accompany customer and supplier visits.
Presentation of project updates to Customer and Management at regular intervals using RYG status system.
Ability to manage a portfolio of projects for range of technologies and customer markets.
Use and develop Lessons Learned system.

Additional Responsibilities
The role requires the engineer to be energized and motivated to work within a creative environment to develop new and enhance existing products.
Demonstrate Hamlin products and applications, leading to opportunity for more sensor development opportunities.
Assist with creating Technology Datasheets and application notes.
Assist with specifying tooling and equipment requirements for production phase of sensor programs.
Support global strategy of DFM for either low cost manufacture products or products with manumation/automation.
Assist with development of new processes requires to compliment new product/technology development.
Support the focus on Strategic Purchasing and Supplier Development.
Support and assist with Supplier Development and sourcing.
