POSITION: Sr. Quality Engineer (molding operation)

WORK LOCATION: Shanghai, PRC

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Quality Engineer will lead the efforts for production and customer quality. Monitors adherence to plant quality system and will be a driving force in reducing defects and customer returns. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker able to quickly identify improvement opportunities and work cross-functionally to implement them.

Specific responsibilities include:
· Lead the implementation of a quality system for the molding operation and maintain the document control system.
· Implement Statistical Process Control for all molded parts including corrective action process when required.
· Provide quality engineering expertise as a member of the molding operation to assure compliance to specifications.
· Analyze quality assurance data and initiate root cause and corrective action efforts to eliminate assignable causes that affect product quality (scrap, DPPM levels, CPK, etc).
· Lead continuous process improvement teams aimed to achieve plant quality objectives.
· Work closely with the engineering and production personnel to reduce manufacturing process variation.
· Hire, train and manage quality inspectors.
· Manage the non conforming material process and use data to drive improvement.
· Lead the internal audit and the corrective action processes.
· Participate in corporate standardization efforts and quality audits.
· Train inspectors, technicians, and operators in adherence to the plant quality system.
· Certify molded parts using statistical tools.
· Manage supplier scorecards evaluating quality yield, delivery, DPPM and Corrective Actions
· Work very close with suppliers and customers to improve quality yields.
· Lead continuous improvement of suppliers via Quality assessment audits.
· Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions prior to standardization.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
· Minimum of 6-year experience in a quality role in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
· Excellent spoken and written English skills
· Knowledge of quality tools: SPC charts, Pareto analysis, Gage R&R, PFMEA, DOE, Six Sigma and PFMEA.
· Proficiency with statistical software.
· Excellent problem solving, communication, and team building skills.
· Working knowledge of quality standards such as ISO-9000/QS-9000.
· Track record of recognizing opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Advanced technical degree or MBA
· ASQ CQE and/or CQA
