1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES主要工作职责

· Translate customer requirements into functional specifications (mechanical related)

· Define the mechanical design based on the functional specification in cooperation with system engineers, electronic engineers, thermal engineer, process engineer and safety engineer

· Define mechanical design based on the compliance with internal and external standards.

· Apply design principles for optimization on cost, manufacturability (parts making and assembly).

· Apply agreed procedures of project management and MPDL management.

· Design and adaptation for fast-prototype for verification of concept and/or build up demonstration

· Use software tool (like UG) to design the mechanical structure including electronic components, L2 mechanical design.

· Deliver qualified design drawings (2D, 3D) and other mechanical documents (BOM 120sheet, package 110sheet, reports) per request of project manager, purchasing and marketing, MPDL.

· Release mechanical design & tooling for product, process, and production release

· Knowledgeable about materials (plastics, metal, glass, ceramic, and etc.): properties, manufacture process.

· Knowledgeable of tooling and process (injection molding, die casting, and etc.)

· Scout for new material, component, technology, supplier for better quality, lower cost and new feature

· Support process engineer, development quality engineer and CSG quality engineer to solve problem once request.

· Participate in Mechanical Competence activity to share learning, discuss issues, and take the responsibility of long term or common program or task assigned by Competence Leader.

· Generate innovative ideas/IPs together with other colleagues to help Philips build up strong position in SSL business.

· Thermal modeling, simulation and measurement for Retrofit lamp system

·Build up thermal model, perform thermal simulation

· Design and organize thermal experiments

· Verify and improve thermal modeling by analysis the measurement data

· Thermal design for Retrofit lamp system

· Core member during new lamp platform definition and feasibility study

· Interact with system architect, technical project leader and other team members to deliver the state-of-art thermal design: cost effective, max thermal performance, reliable thermal stability during lifetime (eg. proper thermal interface design)

· Thermal competence

· Support competence leader to organize competence team activity

· Actively participate and contribute to the Thermal Competence team

· Scout, benchmark and bring new/emerging thermal technology, materials and solutions into our product design in order to improve the performance, lower the cost, and realize never-possible features

· Maintain and upgrade the thermal measurement capability (equipment and methodology) to ensure the quality of thermal data is accurate and reliable

· Being an active member in the SSL related competence network within Philips to leverage knowledge (GBU LRM, Light Labs, Consumer Luminaries, Prof. Luminaries, and etc.)

· Other special assignments when needed

2. JOB REQUIREMENTS岗位要求

· BSc/MSc, major in ME

· Preferably 2-5 years of practical experience.

· The candidate has a mechanical back-ground with knowledge of material properties, tooling and has demonstrated a great drive for getting things done, on-time.

· The candidate should be familiar with mechanical design software, like UG.

· The candidate should be familiar with development quality tools to ensure the quality of design.

· Good command of the English language in both speaking and writing is a must.

· Thermal design and cooling methods, measurement techniques

· Analysis of product specification and actual design

· Define applicable test specifications and test set up

· Perform temperature measurements on products.

· First risk analysis for products with spreadsheet tools and hand calculations

· Estimations of temperature effect of construction changes with spreadsheet tools and hand calculations

· Test of (proposed) adaptations and trouble shooting

· Value engineering skills/mentality

· Software:

· Computer programs of Windows, thermal Excel spreadsheets.

· Use of conversion programs like IGES.

· General

· Understanding of Product Creation Process

· Understanding of and skilled in use of tools like FMEA and Risk management

· Broad technical base (preferably Lighting Systems, i.e. including fixtures)

· Good communicator

· Good ability to speak & understand English

· Ability to work in cross functional teams Motivational skills
