Role Summary/Purpose

The BioProcess HW business delivering almost 120MUSD in annual turn-over within the protein purification business, is now seeking to strengthen it´s team in China. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide multi-functional leadership and direction for the Bioprocess Hardware product segments from a Chinese regional perspective; GE has set as a high priority objective to establish itself as a leading supplier of equipment and process knowledge for the bio-pharmaceutical market in


Essential Responsibilities

• Product development, o Develop product portfolio o Market trends/analysis, 1-5 years’ outlook o NPI roadmaps o R&D input and monitoring Initiate and drive NPIs where needed Provide “solution-free” guidelines Voice of Customer True Needs

• Establishing the vision and strategic plan for the assigned product segment

• Coordinating activities in a multi-functional organization; including marketing, sales, operations, engineering, and services teams, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.

• Ensuring customer focus by communicating and building rapport with customers as required and ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in work processes.

• Defining and leading appropriate market segmentation and positioning strategies for the assigned product segment

• Driving the product portfolio to meet the needs of the market. Responsible for strategy and execution of the product roadmaps and New Product Introductions (NPI)

• Drive operating mechanisms to ensure behavior consistent with integrity, quality systems, and EHS requirements.

• Develop Value Proposition for Emerging Geographies for the assigned product segment

• Works closely with commercial and regional marketing team to develop go-to-market programs

• Close collaboration with R&D (NPI development), Sourcing and Supply Chain Managers

• Developing, executing, and motivating others on strategies, tactics, measurements, and operating mechanisms to deliver business results.

• Support Regional Sales and establish product pricing and positioning strategies

• Lead pricing analysis and implementation for product group/region


Qualifications/Requirements

·Leadership capabilities• Self-motivated/self-driven

·Influencing skills - ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate organizational influence

·Inclusiveness - Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams

·Track record of delivering on projects• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Life Sciences & MBA or related field

·3-5 years of post MBA experience in marketing, product marketing, strategy development or related field

·Excellent oral and written communications skills; English as primary communication language

·Strong analytical and process skills

·Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of time.

·Strong project management skills

·Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment across multiple geographies.


Desired Characteristics

• MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

• Bio-pharmaceutical development/manufacturing experience is highly desired

• 10+ years experience in product marketing, product development or related field

• Deep Product Management/Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management,

• Life Sciences product/industry/technical acumen

• Leadership skills to lead matrix teams and shape/lead growth vision and marketing strategy• Innovation – develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas

• Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams

• Proven ability to work globally

• Proven ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers.
