Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers that lead the resolution of commercial, industrial, public lighting and OEM customer warranty issues for GE Lighting products. • Manage PSO to a sustainable / controllable process with KPI’s performance metrics. • Drive Asia quality reviews and improvement activities with manufacturing sites, the sourcing group, and technology team. • Communicate the quality status to the commercial team on a regular basis. • Lead the ISO9000/14000 activities for GEED China. • Play an active role in New Product Introduction (NPI) reviews. • As PSO manager, direct activities of PSO engineers to perform failure analysis and disposition activities related to warranty claims. • Leverage best practices, processes and tools to synergize Global PSO processes and integration with the quality organization. • Work with global cross-functional teams (often consisting of Manufacturing, Technology, Product Management, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Legal, Sales, Insurance etc) to ensure timely and effective complaint resolution. • Responsible for driving down and tracking Asia warranty costs. Lead the team to utilize Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, SWAT activities, and Lean techniques to identify quality issues by analyzing trends in both commercial and consumer complaints; pursue corrective actions at global manufacturing sites including GE plants and external suppliers. • Report Global warranty trends and cost to the business • Work with functional leadership to continuously communicate & reinforce the Global PSO Process. Ensure functional teams follow the proper protocol to process customer complaints, from receiving a claim to answering the customer. • Work with the teams to ensure they are using the Global CAR process to address non-conformities and customer issues with proper containment actions, root cause, corrective actions steps, and closure. Escalating aging CARs for management review as necessary. • Attend NPI technology reviews and communicate to the team pending T6* reviews, prepare for PSO readiness for pre-launch of NPI. • Work closely with Product Regulatory Compliance team to understand & communicate weekly all Quality and Product Regulatory CAR holds.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science.• 5 or more years of experience in lighting or industrial lighting applications.• 5 or more years of experience managing a team.• Oral and written communication skills in a global cross-functional environment.• External focus, able to communicate professionally with customers• Energized self-starter who is able to work in cross-functional team environment • Ability to read and write fluently in English

• Black Belt Six Sigma certification or six sigma experience• Major in electronics• Technical program graduate• Experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or R&D • Experience and knowledge of lighting and electronics products and processes• Experience with quality management systems, CAPA, ISO• Executive Presence• Clear Thinker and Thought Leader• Customer service and / or commercial experience• Influencing, analytical and problem solving skills• Conflict resolution ability
