Purpose
?We want to look for candidate within AP China for this particular position to support the growing business and the project workload within GEO Asia. Engineering IT is centralized in Shanghai. This position is responsible for Design CAD system support, Phoenix Tools support, etc. for China GEO projects.

Nature and Scope
?The holder of this position will be expected to provide below listed IT related activities supporting to GEO Asia design, engineering and project execution.
?In house Simulation and design activities
?In house detailed Plant design activities
?Provide support in third parties (Local Design Institutes) selection CAD capabilities assessment, to help in the design of Plant Design projects in Asia and other regions of the world.
?Phoenix tools support activities
?STAC help desk activities
?The Engineering project is dispersed throughout the Asia Pacific region, and the holder of the position will be expected to make as needed base travel to meet the users.
?This position holder will report to the Asia Engineering IT Solution Leader in Shanghai.

DIMENSIONS
?The Engineering departments supported by this group consist of Shanghai Office. The GEO China organization is growing rapidly.
?The software that is supported by this group consists of the suite of applications that are used in the lifecycle of design, build and operation of a plant. Although the overall portfolio numbers in excess of 500 applications, the design environment includes major application suites such as Aspen simulation, Process Design Zyqad, PDS Plant Design System and MicroStation. The build process uses the NC software, drawing management and material management software.
?The Engineering groups also use external Design Institutes, and may have dealings with more than one Design Institute at any time.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
?The Engineering IT Specialist is a member of a team supporting and improving a variety of CAD applications. The team member is responsible for maintaining existing applications as well as identifying new areas to improve the engineering design process through the customization of commercial CAD programs and development of supporting applications. The team member will also be involved in day-to-day tasks of application administration and end-user support.
?Maintain a relationship with related groups at other AP locations, such as the Engineering IT Solutions teams in Hersham and Allentown, to insure that AP maintains a globally consistent set of engineering tools and work processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
?Familiarity with one or more of the Engineering Design programs in use at company (eg. Aspen Engineering Suite, PDS and SPInstrument, SP P&ID, Citrix)
?Knowledge of a development environment (VB .NET, C# etc), has programming experiences is a big plus.
?An understanding of the normal Engineering work process, and how the software enables this process. Apart from the specific requirements above the following would be desirable
?Some experiences working in a global IT environment
?A degree in IT or an IT related Engineering discipline with 3 - 5 years work experience
?Good interpersonal skills
?Good English (verbal and written communication) skills
?Solid understanding of Windows OS and PC hardware.
?Ability to identify areas for improvement and assist in creating and implementing solutions.
?Experience working with design or engineering functions in the process industry is a particular advantage.
?Knowledge of one or more of the following tools is a plus: Intergraph
?SmartPlant PID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartSketch, PDS, or Bentley Microstation.
?o Knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
?Experience working in a Citrix environment is a plus.
?Programming experience, preferably with Microsoft C#.net, C++ and/or MDL.
?Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
?Ability to communicate well within a team environment.
?Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage a variety of ongoing tasks.
?Enjoy learning and working with new technologies
